Chapter 144 - Training Continued.

It had been more than a month since Hao Xuan had settled down at Galena. The evacuation order had still not been withdrawn.

He hadn't had any contact with anyone other than Xu Qing, Green, and Red. Most of the days were spent training, while the rest he would go out to fight beasts. The Six-Armed Heavenly Ape skill was further refined and specialized by Hao Xuan himself.

He implemented the Force Qi, Demonic steps and infernal rapture into the Six-Armed heavenly Ape and created a palm technique that turned his whole arms pitch black and used Force Qi to enhance their raw power and then further increase it with Infernal rapture. Demonic steps allowed him to move around like a tsunami, each step creating thunderous waves and vibrations.

He aptly named this technique "The Assualt of the Mad God" as it seemed like the whole world was about to turn upside down whenever he used it. The only downside was the self-harm it caused to his own body and the stupendous Qi requirements. Right now using it for just 3-5 minutes was the most he could handle. If not for his fast healing abilities, it would not be a viable technique.

The Imperial Glaive Doctrine was also trained halfway through the first stage. It required him to compress his Qi into fine threads and cover the glaive with it. This way, the Qi waste would be minimum and much longer-lasting.

Three new rivers were formed within a thousand miles of Galena due to the constant rainfall. Even now it continued without a break.

After training and cultivating for so long, he had finally broken through to the Sixth stage of the Origin realm as well.

"Master," a tall, dark figure walked up behind Hao Xuan and got down on one knee. The figure looked like a normal person of about 6 feet in height. He had short black hair and pitch-black eyes. There was a black sword on his waist. It was extremely simple and without any gaudy engravings.

He looked to be around 30 years old and had a simple and honest face.

This was Jacob after coming out of his cocoon. Hao Xuan had to use hundreds of beast cores to help him complete his transformation. The Jacob of right now looked nothing like the simple farmer from before. This was an entirely different person. Hao Xuan had given him a new name as well, 'Ensis'.

"What happened?" Hao Xuan was sitting on the roof of a three-story building, cultivating with closed eyes.

"A new beast wave approaches," he replied respectfully, still kneeling.

Every few days there would be a few hundred monsters attacking the city walls. Till now there hadn't been any actual hordes so the city was mostly peaceful.

"Tell Kuo to send out the new recruits," he said one last time before returning to his meditative state.

The Mad Saints had also reached Galena by the orders of the great general. All other missions were put on hold and every captain had to stay with their respective troops.

The Mad Saints had more than 500 members now. Due to Hao Xuan's fame, a lot of newbies wanted to get under his wing and join his regiment. The military, of course, would not deny them this opportunity as long as they passed the tests.

"Yes, master," Ensis bowed and walked away.

A few minutes later a loud horn was blown near the city walls which indicated the incoming beasts. From where Hao Xuan was sitting, the fight would not be visible, neither did he care.

Kuo and others were more than enough to handle everything.

Ensis returned about an hour later and told him everything was taken care off.

The drop of blood which transformed Ensis was from a Sword Fiend-God called 'Belua'. No one knew how old it was or where it came from, it just always seemed to be there. It was behind some of the most heinous massacres in the history of the Beast World and was both worshipped and feared by many.

After cutting off its connection to the drop of blood, Hao Xuan was in complete control of it. Even if Belua himself descended, he would not be able to regain control of it. Slowly Ensis would become stronger and awaken the skills and abilities hidden within him. By then he would not be any less powerful than Fiend God himself. That of course, was a long long time away.

Black and White had also awakened some skills. They finally unlocked the ability to transform back into their original forms. Currently, both of them were about 18 meters (60 feet) each in their original forms.

They could control two types of flames, White's flame was ice-cold, while Black's was scorching hot. When they fought, it looked like fireworks were going off and were extremely eye-catching. But no matter how fearsome they were on the battlefield, in front of Hao Xuan they would always become the cute little worms sitting on his shoulders.

They actually spent so much time on his shoulders that it became sort of an iconic look with the new recruits and many of them tried to tame small snakes and lizards and made them sit on their shoulders.. Several of them had to be given emergency medical treatment when their respective pets bit them, leaving Kuo speechless.
