Chapter 458: Illusions

“Have a seat!” Veronica said in an over-excited voice as she pushed a chair in front of her.

She gave Fang Lin a smile as she said,

“General Draco, feel free to tell me everything that you want to say. I will not laugh at you even if what you will tell me is absurd.”

“Ah ok…” Fang Lin then looked around him, as if he was extremely nervous to say anything right now.

Veronica’s smile widened after seeing this, as she thought that the current General Draco looked cute for her.

“I think the Hero of the Golden River Kingdom wants to do something to me…” Fang Lin then acted like he was scared as his face wore a slightly terrified look.

“Ah eh… what do you mean by that…” Just like what Fang Lin had expected, Veronica was caught by surprise by what he just said.

After hearing the slightly astonished voice by Veronica’s, Fang Lin then acted shy as he slowly said,

“Hero, I think that the Hero of the Golden River Kingdom wants to take me away somewhere… Just by looking at her eyes, I can feel that she will do those things to me…”

After hearing this reply, Veronica stilled for a second before she asked Fang Lin with another question.

“Then why did you come here for my help? You are technically under the rule of Bai Huangdi, so shouldn’t you have come to ask him for protection instead of me?”

“Well, I think our Hero would not help me, maybe he will even use me as a way to get closer to Fang Yu… Maybe he will present me to her like a gift, just to obtain her favor…”

“That is indeed possible…” Veronica slightly murmured to herself as she sat down in front of Fang Lin.

She then crossed her legs as she asked him,

“This is it.” Fang Lin thought as he received the question that he was waiting for right now. He suppressed his smile as he realized that this Veronica favored his current appearance so much that she is willing to help him out right now.

Fang Lin then took a deep breath as he said,

“Please let me be your subordinate, Hero…”

Just as when Fang Lin thought that he will be snubbed, her heard Veronica slowly saying,

“Even if I killed a lot of people already… are you still willing to be under me?”

Fang Lin tried to ignore a literal translation of what she just said as he replied,

“I think that you are a good person deep inside, so I am not worried for my life. I think it is their fault that they were killed by you.”

“My, my, your praising skills are really topnotch. I am liking you more right now…” Veronica muttered as she looked like she was not trying to swoon.

She then added another question, which Fang Lin knew was coming.

“Even if you think I am a good person, didn’t you see my transformation earlier? Are you not terrified by that?”

“I do not think that you are scary earlier.” Fang Lin replied, and this time, he was being completely honest with Veronica. “I think you are extremely cool.”

“Co-co-cool?” This time, Veronica could not maintain her calm façade as her whole body began to tremble. Only after a minute passed by that Veronica began to visibly calm down.

“Ha, ha, ha…” Veronica then started to slowly pant as she said,

“Now I know why Fang Yu wants to take you for herself. Just your words are enough to sweep me off my feet. And what’s even better is that I can see that you are not lying to me…”

“Hero, you can detect lies?” Fang Lin innocently asked back after hearing what Veronica just said.

“That’s right.” Veronica replied in affirmation as she nodded her head. “It is in my second nature to detect if a person was lying or not. So, I know when someone is lying in front of me.”

Veronica then let out an exhausted sigh as she continued talking.

“General Draco, do you know how many people lie to me everyday? A lot of them. That is why I loathe to talk with any people now.”

Veronica then looked at Fang Lin as she amorously said,

“But you, General Draco, I could not detect any hints of falsehoods from you. I feel that your words are all sincere. And that makes me extremely happy.”

Looking at his appearance, Fang Lin looked extremely calm.

But deep in his mind, he was having a panic attack.

“S**t , s**t, s**t!” Fang Lin cursed inwardly as he realized that he just avoided a very dangerous situation. “She can detect lies? Holy hell, that must be the reason why she is so moody and angry!”

But if Veronica can really detect lies, then why did she not detect Fang Lin’s lies earlier, like his lie about Fang Yu wanting to take him or his lie about his doubts on Bai Huangdi?

Just these two statements were extreme lies that is enough to be detected as lies by Veronica!

But it seems like Veronica recognized them as true statements!

“Am I immune to her lie-detecting abilities?” After a few seconds of thinking, Fang Lin knew that this could be the only reason for his lies being unnoticed by Veronica. “But if that was the case, then what is the thing that is making me immune? Sigh, no matter what I think, I could not think of anything that can make me immune!”

While Veronica slightly squirmed in her chair, waiting for Fang Lin’s reply, Fang Lin realized that he had to test his immunity one more time before he can be sure that he was really immune.

Fang Lin acted shy once more as he said,

“Hero, actually, there is one more reason why I wanted to be your subordinate… It’s that I like to be with you. I feel that I it is only by being near you that I will be happy…”

“Oh my, you are not lying about that!” Veronica said as she looked like she was about to pounce on Fang Lin. From the looks of it, she was trying her best to not do anything that might scare Fang Lin.

What Fang Lin said earlier about him being happy with Veronica was not that true. It was true that he liked her, but not to the extent that he will be her subordinate. They were technically opponents, so Fang Lin was not that enthused on being her subordinate.

“Hehehe, so I am really immune to her lie-detecting abilities…” Fang Lin muttered inwardly as he knew that with his immunity, he will have an easier time getting closer to Veronica.

Because Veronica cannot detect Fang Lin’s lies, Fang Lin knew that he can say anything he wants, and Veronica will accept them as the truth.

Fang Lin resisted the urge to smile as he realized that right now, he can easily manipulate Veronica on everything that he wanted her to do!

“Geez fine! From now on, you shall be my subordinate!” Veronica declared as she stood up with her hands outstretched towards Fang Lin.

She then tried to not sound shy as she muttered,

“Now that you are my subordinate, my first command is for you to hug me.”

Fang Lin tried not to laugh as he saw that the current Veronica was like a young kid wanting to be spoiled by her parents.

“Hug you? Well… here I come then, I guess…” Fang Lin tried not to sound like he was laughing as he hugged Veronica.

“D*mn, she smells so good…” This is what Fang Lin thought as Veronica’s body contacted with his own. “And not only that, her body is also so soft…”

“You are so pretty, Hero.” Fang Lin whispered huskily behind Veronica’s ear. “But if you are this beautiful, then why don’t you have any companions? They have wasted a good opportunity to be with you.”

“Muuu, quit praising me like that, you are making me blush…” Veronica shyly replied as her whole neck began to turn red. She must have been blushing so much that it extended down to her neck.

Sounds of deep breathing could then be heard from Veronica as she tightened her hug on Fang Lin.

“Please stay with me like this for a little longer General Draco.” Veronica said as her fragrant breath wafted towards Fang Lin. “And you can stop calling me Hero. My name is Veronica, and I want you to call me by that name.”

“Veronica. What a nice name.” Fang Lin said as this word rolled of this tongue. “A fitting name for a pretty person like you.”

“Gehoh!” It’s a critical hit! Veronica has been stunned!

“You… you really are a player!” Veronica said as her hands slightly squeezed Fang Lin’s back. “But I like what you are saying, can you… praise me like that everyday?”

“Of course I will, Veronica.” Fang Lin replied. “After all, someone like you deserved to be praised by everyone!”

“Ah! I can’t take it anymore!” Veronica shouted out as she began to quickly pant.

She squeezed Fang Lin’s back wantonly, as if she was trying to enjoy the exquisite sensation that it gave to her.

“Since you like pretty things, then I think I can show my face to you, General Draco….” Veronica said as if she was in a trance.

But before she could remove her mask, a booming voice suddenly sounded out which forced Veronica to separate from Fang Lin.

The voice, which came from outside the house, made Veronica so angry that the floor beneath her feet began to crack.

“Veronica you b**ch, return General Draco to me! I still have to talk with him! Maybe you are using your limbs right now to dice him up right now! I cannot allow that to happen!”

Surprisingly, it was Illusion Fang Yu who shouted these words!

Illusion Fang Yu then continued shouting from the outside as she cursed Veronica and implored her to release Fang Lin.

“You s*ut! I have enough of you already!” Veronica shouted out as she began to head out. “Even if you have your illusions, I will still beat you up!”
