Chapter 441: Four Brats of Apocalypse

“Yay!” A happy childish voice could be heard as sounds of multiples footstep echoed all around the house. The footsteps were light and quick, which added to the chaotic sounds all around the house.

While all this ruckus was happening, a tired voice could be heard saying,

“Sigh, so taking care of these 4 brats is this hard? Ugh, now I am rethinking whether I should still build my family…” This speaker was Genie, the Current Yama Successor.

Just like what she promised to Fang Yu earlier, she brought Tang Li, Wang Mei, Solomon, and Jorm with her at her house.

The big reason why Genie wanted these brats to stay with her was because she wanted to cuddle and play with them.

When Genie was still alive, she was an extremely talented practitioner who was considered a once-in-a-lifetime genius.

Because of that, she ignored the aspects of love, and she just focused on increasing her cultivation.

But all that effort went into nothing as she was killed from a planned ambush by her former enemies.

Because of her superior assets, Genie won the Final Trial, and she became the current Yama Successor.

Genie was ecstatic at that time, because she thought that she could use her Yama Successor Status to attract a lover!

But Genie’s expectations did not go with what she expected.

Because of the extreme workload that accompany a Yama Successor, Genie was unable to find free time for her lovelife! Every day, every year, every millennia, its just all work!

But now that her term as the Yama Successor was about to end, Genie’s hopes raised up again as she once more envisioned a future with her fated one.

“Hey Sis Genie, why are you not ugly?” Tang Li tilted her head as she looked at Genie directly with her wide innocent eyes. “If your name is Genie, then you should be that ugly girl, right?”

While Tang Li was talking, a plethora of rare and exquisite toys could be seen being clutched by both of her hands.

It was great that these toys were made up of rare materials, as Tang Li was having her merry time on whacking them everywhere!

Genie was not shocked with what Tang Li was doing with the toys. Instead, her attention was piqued by the question that Tang Li gave her.

Genie picked up the curious Tang Li as she asked her,

“Tang Li, what do you mean by that question? Can’t you see that your Sis Genie is very pretty? How can I be ugly?”

“Muuu…” Tang Li tilted her head cutely as she replied,

“Because Sis Fang Yu met someone named Genie before she went here! And that Genie is super duper ugly! But then my Sis went back to our Planet while Tang Li is sleeping, so Tang Li was not able to say goodbye to Sis Genie… And then Tang Li heard that your name was Genie, so Tang Li thought you are her… Muuu… seems like the great Tang Li can be wrong too!”

If it were not for the hands that she was using to hold her up, Genie could have already pinched Tang Li’s pouting cheeks which was just too much for her.

As for the words that Tang Li said, Genie did not think too much of it.

Genie suppressed the urge to smile as she patted Tang Li’s head. Genie then watched Tang Li giggling as she said to the little girl,

“Tang Li, sometimes there will be people that will have the same names. Maybe that was what just happened between me and that super duper ugly Genie that you are talking about.”

“Muuu… okie…” Tang Li seemed to have accepted Genie’s explanation rather quickly.

Tang Li then slithered her way out of Genie’s hold as she trotted like a scampering beetle towards Wang Mei.

Wang Mei was busy stuffing her mouth with the ‘delicacies’ in the Underworld.

Actually calling these ‘delicacies’ as delicacies seems to be a bit of stretch, as these foods were only meant to be eaten by the Underworld Residents.

But Wang Mei seemed to have ignored this restriction as she continued on eating all the foods laid in front of her.

Wang Mei looked to be entirely in bliss as she tasted all the dishes given to her. Oh, how could she wish that this moment will last for long…

But of course, someone is there to ruin that moment, and that someone is a little girl bringing a bunch of toys in her hands.

“Sis Wang Mei, let’s play!”

“Argh Tang Li, why now, of all times!!!”

Genie then ignored these two arguing little girls as she focused her attention on the little boys.

Just like what she had expected, Solomon immediately rushed towards Genie’s weaponry collection, looking with delight at all the deadly and wicked weapons lined there.

There are Crystallate Glasses in the display, which prevented anyone from getting or even touching the displayed weapons.

This prevented Solomon from coming in and ‘play’ with these deadly weapons.

As such, Solomon could only stare at the weapons longingly as he also glared enviously at Wang Mei and Tang Li, who’s obviously having the time of their lives.

If one was near Solomon, they could hear him muttering,

“Muu… it’sh always me, Sholomon, that ish being bullied! Muuu… Sholomon wantsh to cry…”

Genie let out another tired sigh as she decided to ignore this guy for now too.

Genie tried to not sigh again as she talked at the last brat out of the 4 brats.

“Hey Jorm, how long are you going to stay there?”

Jorm, who Genie was talking to, gave her a bored look as he let out a yawn. He just stared at her impassively as he stayed at his position.

And that position was on top of Genie’s head.

“….”

With her status, Genie already knew what type of creature Jorm was and she also knew his closeness to anything related to death.

So it was no wonder for her that Jorm was attached to her.

However, for this baby to perch on top of her head was a little too attached, even for her opinion…

“Sigh.” After a few minutes of more coaxing and pleading, Genie realized that is was impossible for her to make Jorm move.

“Ugh…” She stared at the quarreling Wang Mei and Tang Li, then to the already teary-eyed Solomon, then back to the sleepy Jorm.

The only thing that Genie could do now was to clutch her head as she wished that the Final Trial will already end, so that these Four Brats of Apocalypse could go back to their relatives!

“Ho ho ho, seems like you are in quite a pickle right there.” Genie, who was wallowing in despair right now, suddenly heard an aged voice behind her.

She looked behind her, and she saw that there is indeed another person behind her.

This person was an old man, who instead of the classic white beard, wore a blood-red beard which reached until the ground.

Even the hair, the eyebrows, and eyelids of this Old Man was blood-red in color, making him look extremely sinister.

And the fact that his face seemed to be eternally scowling does not help with his overall appearance.

“Oh its you, Old Geezer.” Genie muttered as she saw the Old Man inside her house. “Won’t your wife be angry once she discovers that you went here without telling her again?”

“What do you mean by again!” The old man replied angrily as he flicked Genie’s forehead. “I always tell my wife what I do or where I go!”

“Hmph, so you really are a submissive husband! All of your believers will be extremely disappointed once they see you like this, actually asking for your wife’s permission to leave!”

“Hey, that is too much!” The old man said as he let out a sigh. “I am not submissive okay? I just… love my wife!”

“Whatever…” Genie replied sullenly as she saw that Tang Li was staring at the old man with curiosity.

“Pit pat pit pat.” Tang Li quickly trotted towards the old man, more specifically to his blood-red beard.

Tang Li did not hesitate to touch this beard as she said,

“Sis Wang Mei, look! This beard looks like spaghetti!”

“Oh yeah, that is right!” Wang Mei exclaimed as she began to drool while looking at the beard. “Now that just made me more hungry!”

“….” Both Genie and the old man were speechless seeing the antics of the two.

Genie could only shake her head as she thought to herself,

“Oh Tang Li, if you only know who this old man was, then I think you won’t even want to get near him!”

The old man seemed to be not offended by what Tang Li said, as he even encouraged her. “Little girl, if you think my beard is like a spaghetti, then come and have a taste!”

“Hey! That’s just mean!” Genie said as she glared at the old man. “Even if you are technically my master, I will still not hesitate to tell your wife about what you did here!”

“It’s just a joke, it’s just a joke…” The old man replied quickly as his beard receded upwards.

Tang Li could only stare at the beard with disappointment while Genie did her best to bring Tang Li back to normality.

Once she had fixed the mess, Genie looked at the old man as she asked him,

“Old man, my retirement is already near so technically speaking, I should be spending my time lazing around here… But you suddenly appeared here, without notifying me earlier. Why is that so?”

The old man, who looked like aged earlier, suddenly changed his demeanor after hearing Genie’s question.

His frail posture began to straighten up and his eyes which looked lethargic before, started to gain clarity in them, which made the old man look like a war deity rather than a horror movie mascot.

When Genie saw these changes, she began to look serious too, as she realized that something big was about to happen.

The old man looked at Genie with grave expression as he said,

“There is not much time left now before the Dreamworld makes its move. So I came here to talk with you regarding all the things that you need to do.”

After hearing this, Genie’s only reply was,

“Oh, more work for me? Yay, I am so happy to work when I am supposed to be resting! Isn’t that just great?”
