77 Treating You to Meat Buns

Today’s training ended very early. The instructors asked the students to eat early and go back to rest to prepare for the rock climbing competition tomorrow which was a highlight of the training.

Shi Man’s additional training in the past few days was with the official army. The instructors and trainees valued her ability very much. Many officers had already thrown her an olive branch, wanting to keep such a talent in the army.

However, Shi Man refused without thinking. She did not want to repeat the same mistake in her previous life. It was interesting to have a different life. Moreover, she participated in training only out of personal interest, not for her future.

There was no mission tonight. Shi Man was about to return to the dormitory after dinner when she was stopped by the sneaky Shi Mu.

His heart ached when he saw what his sister was eating these few days. He specially came to deliver food to her and stuffed the meat buns he had painstakingly bought into her hand. He said mysteriously, “Don’t be discovered. I secretly brought these in.”

Shi Man returned the buns to him in amusement. “Brother, you should keep them for yourself. I just ate. I’m not hungry now.”

“How can that do? Look at how thin you’ve been these past few days. Brother’s heart is aching.” Shi Mu stuffed the bun into her hand without any explanation and pursed his lips as he swallowed. “Eat quickly. If Mom finds out that I didn’t take good care of you, she’ll skin me alive when I head back!”

“Then let’s split them equally.” Shi Man knew that he had come to this bitter place for her. These few days, he had always been hanging around in front of her when he had nothing to do, but because of the strict discipline, he never had the opportunity o say a word to her.

As her brother, he felt sorry for her from the bottom of his heart. Shi Man would not reject him. She took out two buns and placed them in his hand. She smiled and said, “Brother, eat too. Don’t worry, I can take care of myself.”

Shi Mu was so touched that tears streamed down his face. His sister was really an angel. Yi Zheng really had no taste. His sister was so beautiful and good, but he didn’t like her!

At the mention of that person, Shi Mu felt resentful. He couldn’t help but remind her, “Sister, Yi Zheng is here too. If you meet him, you have to stay far away. Don’t get involved in bad luck and affect your mood.”

“He’s actually here?” Shi Man raised her eyebrows in surprise, but she was not interested in knowing why he suddenly came to this place. She nodded with a smile, stuffed the buns into her pocket, and returned to the dormitory.

As soon as she pushed open the dormitory door, Shi Man acutely heard a sob. However, when she frowned and looked over, she could not find any traces of crying on Su Tang’s face.

She closed the door skeptically and shook the empty warm water bottle. She poured the last cup of hot water and sat opposite Su Tang. She said in a low voice, “What’s wrong?”

“It’s fine.” Su Tang had closed the distance between her and Shi Man these past few days. Sometimes, Shi Man was willing to talk to her when she was not busy.

Thinking of how she had finally become friends with Shi Man but was forced to betray her, Su Tang couldn’t help but smile bitterly in her heart.

Perhaps they had specially looked for her because they could tell that Shi Man was close to her. After all, no one else could do that now.

With just a glance, Shi Man could tell that Su Tang was hiding something from her. This female protagonist was innocent and kind and could not hide her thoughts. No wonder the male protagonist, Yi Zheng, chose to be with her.

No man would have the heart to reject such an innocent and kind girl for too long.

“Forget it if you don’t want to say it.” Shi Man took out a bun and threw it to her. She took off her coat and hung it on the wall. She picked up the thermos bottle and turned to go out to get water.

Su Tang silently clenched the meat bun in her hand and slowly got up from the bed. She touched the warm bracelet in her pocket and gritted her teeth. Her heart was pounding as she walked to the wall.

She raised her hand and touched Shi Man’s jacket. Even from a distance, Su Tang could still smell Shi Man’s unique scent on the jacket.

The smell was extremely faint, but it always wafted in her nose, like the fragrance of fragrant grass. After smelling it for a long time, it would make one feel as if they were in paradise.

“I’m sorry.”

Su Tang lowered her eyes, hating herself for being useless. Tears silently rolled down the corners of her eyes.

When Shi Man returned, Su Tang was already sitting by the bed with her usual expression. She held the hot meat bun and ate it in small bites.

Seeing her return, Su Tang immediately smiled. “Where did you get the meat bun? This isn’t what the canteen is serving tonight!”

“My brother gave it to me.” Shi Man didn’t have much need for meat, but she saw that Su Tang liked it, so she threw it to her.

“Senior Shi Mu?” Su Tang suddenly regretted eating someone else’s bun. She didn’t know if she should swallow the fragrant beef. “This is your brother’s gift. I won’t eat it. There’s one left that I haven’t touched. Eat it.”

“I don’t want it.” Shi Man walked to the window impatiently and glanced at the long line in front of the sink downstairs. She frowned fiercely and said casually, “Yi Zheng is here. Do you know?”
