Gu Jingyan laughed. “You really know how to talk.”

Liu Yi scratched his head shyly. He seemed decent and honest.

Once inside, Gu Jingyan did not see the group of them and went to find a place to sit.

“Let me help to get you a meal. I know which stall has good food.” Liu Yi volunteered.

Gu Jingyan did not mind and left it up to him to get the meal.

Liu Yi returned quickly. Just then, a commotion started around the entrance. Someone shouted, “Look, Lu Beichen.”

Lu Beichen was seen walking in with a swagger, with a basketball in his hand, talking and laughing with Boss Xu and a few others. He also winked at the pretty girls along the way.

“Oh my, I think I’ll be pregnant just by looking at him.”

“Wow, look, is Lu Beichen looking at me?”

Gu Jingyan watched as the canteen had turned into a star-chasing arena. Everyone was shouting at Lu Beichen. She felt like she did not want to have her meal with Lu Beichen and the rest anymore.

It was too attention-seeking.

She would be better off sitting here having her meal.

Liu Yi looked enviously at Lu Beichen. “Man, how could be there such a perfect guy on earth?”

Gu Jingyan looked at him in surprise. “No way, you like guys?”

“What? How can it be?”

“You’re swooning over this guy,” Gu Jingyan said.

Liu Yi hurriedly explained, “I like women alright? I just envy him. Having such a good family, with so much wealth and he’s so good looking. Man, with the existence of a person like him, we’re nothing compared to him. It’s going to be tough for us to find a girlfriend.”

“Nah.” Gu Jingyan said, “They’re just having fun. Who really wants to be with him?”

“How can it be? You haven’t seen the school’s forum. So many girls in the school are willing to form a queue to have his child. What about you? Don’t you like a guy like this? You’re so pretty. I think you must want to find a guy as good-looking as this.”

“Is that so? You’re not interested in him?”

They were good friends but he was such a drag when there was nothing to do and they had completely different personalities. How could she see eye to eye with him?

“I thought we agreed that I’ll give you a welcome reception. You’ve been here for a day and you didn’t come looking for us. Are you hiding from us?”

Lu Beichen looked at the girls behind him. “It’s all because you took too long. I got bored.”

“Haha. So can I have my meal in peace now?”

Lu Beichen turned his head around and looked coldly. “Get lost, all of you.”

“Young Master Lu, what have we done?”

“Young Master Lu, you can’t do this.”

Lu Beichen had no interest in their whining. “I don’t wish to repeat myself.”

His words were cold and his face turned dark.

A few of them got frightened. Not daring to offend him, they quickly left.

They gave a death stare at Gu Jingyan before leaving.

They were jealous, yet sad.

Who was this girl? Lu Beichen had chased them all away because of her, and he was so fierce.

Gu Jingyan shook her head. “You’re really evil.”

“Why? Have I done anything evil to you?”

Lu Beichen smiled and plated some food for her.

“Quick, eat. It’s already so late, aren’t you hungry?”

“I am. I’m starved to death.”

“Then quickly bring the food.” Hearing that she was hungry, Lu Beichen turned back to shout, “Quick bring the dishes, immediately.”

The restaurant got into a frenzy.

Soon, the dishes were served.

Gu Jingyan ate very quickly, as though she had not had such good food before. She felt it was extremely tasty.
