Chapter 217: The Call

She never would’ve guessed that Yi Qinghan, whom she had collaborated with for so long, would make things so difficult for her.

Fu Siying pointed at her wet clothes and said with a hurt expression, “Can’t you see that I’m also soaked? How come you only care about her?”

Yi Qinghan didn’t even glance at her, “What does that have to do with me?”

Then, he no longer acknowledged Fu Siying and instead, looked over to his assistant Xiaonan, “Go buy a set of women’s clothes. Be fast!”

Jiang Xiaonan hurriedly nodded, “Oh, oh, I’m on my way.”

Yi Qinghan didn’t at all mind the astonished stares from everyone as he pulled Qiao Qing into his private resting room.

Everyone was looking at this with an astonished expression. There was an unparalleled surprise in everyone’s eyes.

Fu Siying listened as everyone around her discussed. Her normally good looking face was twitching from fury.

Lin Xiyan realized that Qiao Qing was a puzzle. All important figures knew her and it all seemed so reasonable.

In the resting room, Qiao Qing wiped her wet phone with a paper towel and placed it on a table.

Yi Qinghan gently removed Qiao Qing’s hair tie. He took a towel and gently patted at her hair. He asked, “How did this happen? There’s nobody here, you can tell me. I’ll avenge you.”

Qiao Qing laughed at this and took over the towel, “I can do this myself.”

Yi Qinghan’s hand trembled a little before he moved it away.

He turned around and got some hot water with a plastic cup. After he tested the temperature, he handed it to her, “You fought with Fu Siying?”

Qiao Qing took over the water and explained simply, “She pushed my friend into the lake. I saved her.”

Yi Qinghan, “She acts horrendously because her family spoiled her too much. Also, your friend?”

Qiao Qing answered, “Lin Xiyan.”

Yi Qinghan was surprised, “Oh, the girl who was playing her stunt woman. She’s good. If she keeps working at it, she’ll have much potential. Do you need me to help her out?”

“Let me ask her if she wants to take this path first.” Qiao Qing then asked, “Why did you ask me to come here?”

Yi Qinghan’s expression looked a little wounded, “We haven’t seen each other in so long. It’s rare for me to be in the City of Brisk. Why is it that if I want to see you, it must be because the teacher asked?”

Qiao Qing pursed her lips and didn’t answer.

Yi Qinghan laughed and patted her head, “I’m joking with you. Don’t be stressed.”

Then, he stood up and grabbed a gift box off of one of the tables, “I couldn’t make it to your coming of age party. This is a gift to make up for it. Qingqing, happy birthday!”

Qiao Qing, “Thanks.”

Yi Qinghan, “You aren’t going to open it?”

Qiao Qing didn’t respond to this. Over the past few days, all the gifts she’d gotten had accumulated into a storage room. She hasn’t had the time to open any of them.

It was difficult to say no to Yi Qinghan’s request. Just as she was about to open the box, someone knocked on the door.

Yi Qinghan, “Come in.”

Jiang Xiannan received permission and entered with a shopping bag, “Boss, I wasn’t sure what size the miss wears, so I just bought what I thought would fit.”

Yi Qinghan took over the bag and handed it to Qiao Qing, “Go change. This room is temporarily built so there’s no bathroom yet. There are new towels in the change room.”

“Thanks.” Qiao Qing put down the gift and went to the change room with the dry clothes.

The moment she entered, the phone she placed on the table earlier flashed with light.

Yi Qinghan lowered his head and saw that it was a call.

The phone flashed, “Jun Yexuan.”
