Chapter 29 Hiring a Human Shield

"Of course!" Chen Fan raised his gun, then shouted, "Quick, look! It's shaking again!"

Burp…

"You… all of you… drink!" Wei Songyue was nearly in tears. There were still 50 cans of beer left to drink.

These five fellows, who were probably mere underlings, dared not go against Wei Songyue's words, so they forced themselves to chug down the beer.

"Right, but didn't that fellow just say that he took his revenge?" Yu Lin rubbed his hands together, then asked, "Boss, when we reach the office, could you lend this to me for a while?"

"Of course!" Chen Fan agreed, nodded, then added, "But, my gun has dubious origins. I hope everybody will help me keep this a secret!"

"Don't worry boss. If you get jailed, we'd be out of a job." Yu Lin patted his chest. "Many people own guns, so as long as you don't attract attention, it's fine."

Yiteng Yun curled his lips, then said, "To secretly conceal a gun carries a punishment of an imprisonment of less than three years or house arrest. And, your gun is not even an army-issue gun, so if you were exposed, it's nothing a little money couldn't fix. If we report you, at most, we could get 500 yuan worth of easy money, which is the price given by the Ministry of Public Security. Do you think that we have so much free time on our hands?"

"Yes, boss, don't you worry!" Zhang Lele bobbed his head, like a chick pecking at grains, "But… Won't Wei Songyue call the cops?"

When the three of them had left, Chen Fan went out to buy some bedding and toiletries. This sixteen-floor office building had over thirty security officers, each of whom carried a stun baton and a walkie-talkie, so Chen Fan was not at all worried that people would be able to barge into the office to take their revenge on him.
