Chapter 27 Two Situations

There weren't many people there in the afternoon, so Chan Fan and company chose a room near the street on the second level and sat down.

"Lady and gentlemen, what would you like to order?" The hostess asked politely.

"Lele, go take a look. Just get two pitchers of beer and some snacks, and order what you wanna drink." Chen Fan lounged on the couch looking a little sluggish. After Lele left, Chen Fan leaned back and looked behind him. Looking at the counterfeit painting on the wall, the huge rear-projection display opposite him, and the soft real leather couch under him, Chen Fan pursed his lips. "This is too capitalistic."

"Yes! I can even smell decadence in the air here." Yiteng Yun pushed up the glasses on his nose and sniffed.

"Boss, you're embarrassing us!" Yu Lin pulled his hair. "We got this deal totally because of you. We didn't do much, and now you're spending money on us."

"Didn't you guys spend one whole afternoon distributing flyers? You also made the website, registered, and posted online!" Chen Fan rolled his eyes at Yu Lin, "When our business gets bigger, you guys will be busy. You guys pick your own songs. I'll just sit to the side and listen!" Chen Fan had to slant his body because of the new pistol.

"Yu Lin, you pick, I'm not really into singing either!" Yuteng Yun urged.

"Okay. I'll sing a duet with Lele when she comes back!" Yu Lin accepted, walked to the jukebox, and chose "Waiting For You Till My Heart Aches" by Jacky Cheung.

It's my mistake, my wrong words that hurt you, I'm sorry

As if they sympathize with my emptiness

"Yu Lin, did somebody just break your heart? Why do you sound so sad?" Yiteng Yun asked Yu Lin during the music break.

"Sort of. I broke up with my girlfriend just after graduation." Yu Lin smiled faintly, "But I'm fine with it. I'm going to take it easy when it comes to affairs of the heart. It depends on fate!"

"I agree. Undergrads these days change their partners faster than changing friends. The way students in my school date like they're playing emperor and concubines!" Chen Fan got excited when he heard Yu Lin talk about relationships. He felt frustrated that he had attended school for so long and never had a real girlfriend.

"Hmm? Do you guys think Lele ever had a boyfriend?" Yu Lin added, "She's not bad looking and she has a sweet voice. She should have many suitors!"

"Hmm...According to my years of experience, I think she's never had a boyfriend." Yiteng Yun sat up and glanced at the closed door. "Girls who have dated before usually care about their appearances, especially those who like makeup and wear bright and revealing clothes. But look at Lele. She dresses very plain and simple. She's more the conservative type."

"Women's clothing is very cheap. They can dress up by spending 100 RMB in the store, so why don't girls who have never dated not buy bright and revealing clothing? Because they are conservative, like a male virgin who doesn't dare hit on pretty girls. But look at those experienced men. They are thick-skinned and can do all sorts of dirty tricks. Actually, there is a similarity between men and women. Girls wear bright and revealing clothing to attract the attention of the opposite sex. Their method is more subtle than men!"

"I see many middle aged women dressed conservatively on the streets. How could it be that they've never dated before? Their children might already be in their teens!" Chen Fan loved discussing such topics, and quickly leaned over to join in.

"This brings us to the next point!" Yiteng Yun adjusted his glasses calmly. "We can't pass a final judgement based on dress; there are men who do not have the guts to show their lust, and there are women that dress gaudily solely to satisfy their personal desire to look beautiful. But..." Yiteng Yun let the suspense build. "We need to use another method to judge: their demeanor. For example, there are some middle-aged women who dress very simply, but they are still very different from inexperienced young women when they interact with the opposite sex. They can talk casually about dirty jokes with men, and they can bump up against them without feeling shy…"

"It's different for young women who are inexperienced with love. When they accidently bump into a man or when they hear men talk about embarrassing stuff, they shy away self-consciously. Most blush too!" Yiteng Yun sounded quite academic. "Yu Lin, how about when Lele comes back you pat her shoulder and see how she reacts?"

"Well…" Yu Lin gave a wide grin and looked very eager to try, "Alright, I'll try that later!"

"What are you guys talking about? You're all bunched together!" Speaking of the devil, Zhang Lele suddenly walked through the door.

"We're discussing the company's future development!" Yiteng Yun still had that indifferent expression, as if that's what Yu Lin had just said.

"Oh!" Zhang Lele sat on the couch at the side. She did not know much about the company and therefore did not continue. Soon after, a man in black uniform came forward with beer and fruit, and placed them on the huge coffee table.

"Lele, let's sing a duet!" Yu Lin took a seat beside Zhang Lele, "I've chosen "Embrace in Love." Let's sing together!"

"Sing, sing!" Chen Fan said as he inserted a toothpick into a piece of watermelon.

"Well, alright!" Zhang Lele hesitated for a while before taking over the microphone. This song required skill, but the two had good voices and sang the challenging song well.

When the song ended, Yu Lin gave Zhang Lele a pat on the shoulder and even pinched twice. "Lele, you have a good voice. You sing very well!"

"Ah…" Zhang Lele shrank to the side as if she'd met the big bad wolf, and she started blushing.

"Huh." Yu Lin turned his head and gave a sinister smile to the other two, his facial expression saying, "told you".

"Expert, a real expert!" Chen Fan secretly raised his thumb at Yiteng Yun. "I didn't expect Yu Lin to be so bold with his tender looks."

"We've realized two truths from this." Yiteng Yun gave a sly smile, "Number one, Zhang Lele has never dated. Number two, Yu Lin is not a virgin!"
