Chapter 14 Wansheng Breakfast Nook

What is the first thing that you will do if you get rich? Spend money of course!

Chen Fan got out of bed early the next morning. After washing his face, he held the backpack full of cash in his arms. He’d put the money back in the bag before he went to bed. He felt uneasy keeping so much money in the house, so he decided to deposit 200,000 RMB in the bank. Besides, paying by card was more glamorous than paying by cash.

He went to open a savings account with Jianshe bank, which was just around the corner from his house. After taking a number, Chen Fan waited more than 20 minutes for his number to be called.

Finally, the teller called, "Customer A063 please proceed to counter no.7! A063 to counter no.7!"

200,000 RMB was not a lot for the teller. She was used to seeing a hefty amount of money every day. However, when a young man in his twenties, with no charisma nor proper dress, took 200,000 RMB from his backpack, she got suspicious. She was amazed as he laid out the money on the counter stack by stack.

It took a while to set up an account because the average looking finance manager in his thirties that guided Chen Fan to the customer service counter started introducing various kinds of insurance policies and fund management programs non-stop.

Oh god, there must be an end to this!

Finally, after spending a lot of time rejecting the business manager, Chen Fan managed to open his account. He carefully put his ATM card away and called a cab.

"Hi, please take me to Wansheng breakfast nook!"

The Wansheng breakfast nook was familiar among the locals. Famous for its crab roe dumplings and ice fish porridge served with sea cucumber, Wansheng had been around for a few dozen years.

Chen Fan had heard a long time ago that the food served at Wansheng was delicious, but because of the expensive prices, he had never set foot in the shop before. Since he was filthy rich at the moment, he had to get a taste of the legendary "aphrodisiac soup" by any means necessary.

"Damn, this is definitely a high-class place!" Chen Fan could not help but mutter when he arrived.

Luxury cars like the Audi A6 series, BMW 5 and 7 series, and Mercedes Benz 3 to 6 series occupied the whole front pavement, within roughly 300 square meters. There were only a few lesser cars, including a Buick Regal and a Volkswagen Passat.

Normally, if someone had invited Chen Fan to have breakfast here, he would’ve considered twice whether to accept the offer to make sure he didn’t humiliate himself. However, the situation was different now. Not only did he have a lot of money right now, but he had an electric eel that could bring him more. Chen Fan could afford to be arrogant!

The easiest way to get somebody’s temperament to change was to give him a million dollars. Due to his new fortune, Chen Fan entered the cafe without hesitation as soon as he got out of the cab. The two-story building had white walls and a green tiled roof, giving it an antique look.

"Good morning, Sir!" The moment he stepped into the cafe, two young hostesses bowed and greeted him with smiles.

Oh… Twins!

Chen Fan was astonished at the identical hostesses. Even the small moles on their noses were in the exact same spot.

Suppressing his desire, Chen Fan smiled awkwardly at them and went inside hurriedly.

"It's indeed a regal experience!"

The mahogany tables and chairs in the hall were designed to look ancient, and the waitress walking back and forth to serve the dishes was beautiful. Chen Fan was surrounded by extravagance. Looking around, he found that the seats were all occupied by middle-aged men, all dressed nicer than he. Everybody had an aura of success. After walking around for a while, Chen Fan finally found an empty table in the corner.

"Sir, may I take your order please?" The waitress asked him with her sweet voice. As soon he had sat down, a waitress wearing a classic pale blue sleeveless cheongsam with a sweet smile on her face had walked towards him, stood at his left-hand side, and handed him a menu.

Although he felt overjoyed, he maintained his composure, randomly flipped through the menu, and ordered two sets of crab roe dumplings, a bowl of ice fish porridge with sea cucumber, and a bowl of sliced yellow pickled radish.

"That’ll be out for you in just a moment!" The waitress replied with a sweet smile. She turned and walked back to the counter.

As soon as the waitress walked away, Chen Fan punched his leg to release his excitement. No wonder people were always boasting about this place. It deserved its reputation!

After a short while, the waitress in the blue cheongsam came back with Chen Fan's order.

"Sir, please enjoy your meal!" she said with a sweet smile.

"Thanks!" Chen Fan nodded. Deep down he had the urge to squeeze the waitress’s butt. Looking at the waitress walking away, Chen Fan suppressed his evil thoughts, scooped up the legendary "aphrodisiac soup" with a white porcelain spoon, and drank it.

"Oh, it tastes better than a Mongolian cow’s milk!"

Enjoying the creamy, cheesy texture, Chen Fan savored the soup for a long time before he swallowed.

In addition to the ice fish and sea cucumbers, the soup included a large variety of expensive aphrodisiacs, which were especially good for the kidneys. That is why it was known as the "aphrodisiac soup" among the locals. It’s also why it cost a few hundred RMB.

Chen Fan was about to eat a steaming hot golden colored crab roe dumpling when he glanced away from his food. Like all the other men in the cafe, his eyes fixed on the figure that had just entered.

"Wow, a western lady!"

Zhongyun’s location on the coast enabled it to establish international trade with other countries. Seeing a foreigner on the streets was not surprising, but, to Chen Fan’s surprise, this young western woman was just his type!

As a Chinese man with pure Chinese ideas of aesthetics, Chen Fan had always felt that although western ladies were beautiful, they did not have that Asian charm, and so were not as attractive as native girls.

However, Chen Fan felt that this young lady was an exception. Although she had blonde hair and blue eyes, like many other western women, Chen Fan felt that she was unique. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. He felt even more excited.

The young western lady moved gracefully. She looked around and finally set her eyes on Chen Fan. She was not interested in him, but all the seats in the hall had been occupied by those successful looking middle-aged men, and Chen Fan’s table was the only one that was not crowded. Also, he was closest to her in age.

The open-mindedness of western people allowed her to walk straight towards Chen Fan’s table without any hesitation.

When Chen Fan realized she was walking towards him, he began to grin widely. He quietly wiped his mouth clean with his sleeve and put a gentle expression on his face.

When she was near him, Chen Fan realized how imprudent he was. He should have stood up and pulled the chair out for her like a gentleman!

The lady in front of Chen Fan was probably the most beautiful western woman he had ever seen in his life. She had a pair of beautiful blue eyes in a face as pretty as porcelain, golden hair tied neatly into a ponytail, and a slender neck with a perfect curve into nice collarbones.

Most people described foreign women as flirtatious, tall, and fair, and the young lady in front of Chen Fan lived up to that reputation.

While walking gracefully towards Chen Fan, this young lady had attracted the attention of most of the men that were dining here. Some of them even stopped eating and kept swallowing their saliva instead.
