Chapter 43: His Cruelty Is Meant For Others

The computer on the table produced a ‘ding,’ and Huo Beichen knew that he had just received an email. A high definition picture of Ning Meng and Huo Beichen hugging each other was download to his computer. Ning Meng’s back was facing the camera, her face hidden and unintelligible.

Huo Beichen balled his fists tightly and had his eyes glued on the picture. Soon, his eyes turned bloodshot as if someone had just robbed a tiger of its prey. His blood boiled, inching closer to unleashing his inner beast!

On the other hand, Ning Meng was lying on her bed, shaking her legs, not knowing what was going to happen to her. Both her hands were tapping away on her smartphone. Ning Wentao replied almost instantly once he’d seen the message.

[Meng Meng… don’t be afraid! I’m on my way!]

[On your way to escape?]

Ning Meng then tossed her cellphone beside her. She then realized that the Huo organization had just appointed Lin Qingbei as their ambassador. She knew that Lin Qingbei had a bright future ahead. In other words, he had the potential to bring massive success to the Huo organization.

She then turned to her side, reflecting on the recent events that had happened to her. It was true that Huo Beichen was ruthless and merciless. No one in their right mind would dare to offend this man. Now that she thought about it, she realized that despite his temperament, he had never actually mistreated her.

When she thought about how Huo Beichen had protected her from the scalding soup using his arm, Ning Meng could not help but rub her flushed cheeks. Back in real life, she was an orphan. There was no one she could rely on. This was the first time she had a taste of someone protecting her. It was at that moment that she realized he was not as scary as she had initially thought.

That being said, she still could not understand why he would choose to marry the old and unfaithful Ning Meng. As she was unable to figure it out, it was best for her to just not think about it anymore. With the intention of showing her gratitude, Ning Meng got up from her bed, wanting to cook him a bowl of tomato and egg noodles.

Today, she had decided to put extra effort into cooking Huo Beichen, his favorite dish. First, she fried the eggs and placed in on a plate once it was cooked.

After that, she tossed freshly cut tomatoes into the wok and added the eggs just as they were about to be cooked. Minutes later, a perfectly cooked tomato and egg dish were placed on the table. Eating it with a bowl of noodles was almost heavenly.

When Ning Meng placed the bowl of noodles on the table, she turned around and saw that Huo Beichen was staring at her near the staircase. He was wearing a set of black casual attire surrounded by a shroud of darkness.

“Hubby, were you drawn to the fragrance of my cooking? Come and take a look! I think the noodles look really yummy today!”

Upon hearing that, Huo Beichen started to walk towards her. Suddenly, Ning Meng felt something gravely wrong with him as the temperature in the room fell drastically. She saw his bloodshot eyes as she lifted up her head. He had his gaze fixed on the bowl of noodles.

Without so much as a warning, a ruthless aura flooded the kitchen, and he swung his hand!

Slap!

The bowl fell to the floor, spilling noodles all over the place.

“Hubby, what’s wrong with you?” asked a shocked Ning Meng while taking a few steps back.

Could it be that he did not like what she had cooked?

“Let… Let me cook for you again…”

Without saying a word, Huo Beichen grabbed her wrist, his body inching ever closer to hers.

“Ning Meng, you have broken the rules a few times before. This time, you can’t blame me for not showing you any mercy!” said Huo Beichen in a deep voice.

It was as if an evil spirit was about to unleash its vengeance on her!
