After watching Li Shiyao walk out of the room, Li Dao let out a sigh. “The girl must have some kind of background, otherwise, why would Lemon Entertainment spend so much money in promoting her?”

If this girl indeed came from a prestigious background, it would be quite difficult for him to brush her off lightly.

As soon as he finished his words, Su Tiantian opened her mouth. “She is just a trainee in Lemon Entertainment.”

As Li Shiyao was walking out cheerfully, a staff hurriedly chased after her. “Ms. Li! Wait!”

Stopping in her tracks, Li Shiyao turned and saw a staff smiling at her. “Ms. Li, the director wants to meet you later in Glamour Club at 7 pm sharp. He said he wanted to discuss the details about the role. Please be punctual.”

Li Shiyao nodded her head obediently.

Ning Meng, who was almost losing her patience waiting at the stairs, finally saw Li Shiyao walk out with a confused face.

Su Tiantian’s manager smirked, “Heh, look at her. I bet she’s already been eliminated from the audition. How could a newbie like her compete with our great Sis Tiantian for a role? How pathetic!”

As soon as the manager had finished his words, Li Shiyao saw Ning Meng and walked toward her cheerfully. “Ms. Ning! He picked me!”

The manager’s jaw was rolling on the floor after hearing this!

A big smile curved up on Ning Meng’s face as she praised Li Shiyao. “Wow! You did great!”

Then, she glared at Su Tiantian’s manager. “How could a newbie like Su Tiantian compete with our great Li Shiyao for a role? How pathetic~!”

Ning Meng was in a good mood, so she did not go on further with roasting the poor manager. She turned toward Li Shiyao and suggested, “Let’s have a feast! We must celebrate this!”

Li Shiyao lowered her head shyly and said, “I’ll… I’ll treat you, then!”

“No.” Ning Meng quickly rejected the offer. “You have not even started earning money yet. How could I ask you to treat me a meal?”

After deliberating over it for a short moment, Li Shiyao finally gave in. “Well… okay then. Thank you for the treat, Ms. Ning. You’ve been so kind to me.”

Taking out her ringing phone, Ning Meng raised an eyebrow at Li Shiyao. “Oh, don’t mention it. I am not the one treating, though.”

Then, she accepted the call and opened her mouth, “Hello? Oh, Shanmei~! Hey, where are you having lunch? Are you heading out? Heh, come on. We’re sisters~ How could we leave you out from lunch? Come! Let’s go grab a bite together!”

Li Shiyao looked at her boss speechlessly.

A few moments later…

After having a hearty lunch, Ning Meng stood up and grabbed her designer handbag. “Oh my, I need to head to the loo. Shiyao, let’s go.”

Zhen Shanmei looked at them in confusion before realizing what Ning Meng was planning to do. She then took out a card. “You can stop acting now. I have a VIP card from this restaurant here. You don’t need to pay a dime at all.”

Seeing as her friend had seen through her scheme, Ning Meng blushed and opened her mouth. “ln that case, what’s the card number? If I come here again without you, can I just use that number to have my meals here?”

Zhen Shanmei rolled an eye at her friend. “Ning Meng… how on Earth have I never known that you were such a cheap little witch?”

A while later, the girls went to another cafe and had a long chat until 4 pm. Soon, Ning Meng stood up to bid her goodbyes. “Okay, I’ve gotta go. Tata.”

“Leaving so early?”

Zhen Shanmei looked at Ning Meng inquisitively.

Ning Meng beamed a proud smile at her friend, “Well, I’ve got a date. Do you have date~?”

Zhen Shanmei then looked at Li Shiyao. “Then how about we go out and have fun? Just the two of us?”

Li Shiyao shook her head and rejected her invitation politely. “I’m sorry, Ms. Zhen. The director asked me to show up at Glamour Club at 7 pm.”
