Chapter 206: Jerk and Breakfast

When she got back to Yuxiu Garden, Ning Meng’s face was still covered by a flush of red.

After parking her car, she furiously rushed to the bathroom upstairs. Patting her face with her hands, Ning Meng pulled herself together and took a bath. Then, she lay on her bed to check her phone.

Oh, her husband, Huo Beichen, had sent her a video message earlier.

When she played the video, she saw Little Tiantian running around on the floor happily while playing with a huge hand at the corner of the screen.

After watching Little Tiantian for a while, she paused the video and took a long look at that huge hand—Huo Beichen’s hand.

His fingers were long and refined, they were quite good-looking indeed… was this the hand that had held hers earlier?

A blush began to creep up on Ning Meng’s face once more.

Ahhh! How could a man’s hand be so good-looking?!

She pulled the blanket over her head and shut her eyes in embarrassment, completely forgetting to reply to Huo Beichen’s message.

A while later, Ning Meng, despite thinking that she might not be able to fall asleep tonight, was sleeping like a baby.

Morning came. Waking up from her dream, Ning Meng was frustrated and pissed. What the hell? Just how valuable did he think his hand was? Why wasn’t he allowing her to hold his hand?

Thus, she marched into the bathroom to wash her face, cooling herself down before getting dressed to go out.

Oh, there was a message notification on her phone. Still, Ning Meng decided to ignore this man who had been giving her the cold shoulder in her dream.

Instead, she switched to the WeChat Group “My Boss Is So Dashing Today”.

Qi Shan: [Sigh. Why don’t I have a girlfriend?]

Zhen Shanmei: [Aww, you poor thing. Don’t worry. I don’t have a boyfriend either.]

Qi Shan: [But you had a boyfriend. At least you had one. On the other hand, look at me. I’ve never even been in a relationship ever.]

The corner of Ning Meng’s mouth twitched as she read those weird messages.

Ning Meng: [Wow, after a long night, the two single doggies are now howling at one another? Should I congratulate you two for achieving divinity~?]

A moment later, Qi Shan deleted his message and sent another message instead: [Dear missus, can you please not say a word? We don’t need your input in our conversation!]

Not giving it much thought, Ning Meng exited the WeChat Group to check Huo Beichen’s message.

Ning Meng walked downstairs to get a loaf of bread from her fridge and roast some coffee, ignoring Huo Beichen’s confusion.

A few moments later, her phone vibrated.

Huo Beichen: [Open the door.]

Huo Beichen: [The jerk is delivering breakfast to you.]

“!?”

Ning Meng was surprised to see this. She stood up from her dining table and sneakily snuck toward the front door.

She slowly and quietly looked through the door’s peephole.

The tall and handsome man was leaning against the wall next to the door wearing a full business suit while reading the texts on his phone.

Then, he raised his head, seemingly having realized something, and looked at the peephole.

Ning Meng leaped away from the door in surprise. She could feel her heart racing quickly.

Then, her phone vibrated again.

Huo Beichen: [Stop peeping and open the door.]

“!?”

Peeping? No. She was not peeping. She was just… admiring his handsomeness!
