Chapter 61

The night was silent.

Moonlight reflected on the floor,

Yan Liang was dressing his wounds.

They were both sitting on the windowsill. As she looked at the wounds in his hand, he looked coldly at the mess in the room.

The moonlight from the window refracted from the scattered glass pieces on the floor and created an illusion of shine in his eyes.

But even that was not enough to bury the deep rooted dullness in his eyes

The heating for the room had been turned on. At least it was not so cold anymore. This man and woman were not looking at each other, but were trying to read each other’s minds as they quietly played their respective roles.

No one spoke, the quiet was overwhelming.

Suddenly the silence was broken by the ringing of a cellphone.

It was Jiang Yu Nan’s mobile

The ringing was so loud, Yan Liang’s body was startled and her hands tightened subconsciously.

Jiang Yu Nan took out the phone from his pocket and connected the call.

It was so quiet that Yan Liang could hear the person on the other side. It was a very familiar voice, Jiang Shi Jun.

“ It seems you are still alive..good.”

Jiang Yu Nan laughed in answer.

His low laughter reached Jiang Shi Jun.

Yan Liang’s fingers stiffened momentarily but soon returned to normal. She turned a deaf ear to the conversation and concentrated on her task.

Jiang Yu Nan then heard her ask with an uncertain tone, “ Why did you go to the hospital ?”

She thought she had asked the question casually enough, but an unprecedented sign of fear flashed in his eyes.

Even if the traces of the panic disappeared immediately, Yan Liang was stunned

She had never , ever seen this man get so alarmed..

She was still stunned when he suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist again.

Then she heard him say coldly, “Don’t try to learn how I bought the hearts of people. You will never learn.”

She was concerned about his health and that angered him ?

This was not going well, Yan Liang pushed against him.

Jiang Yu Nan was pushed back a little, but he only smiled. When he looked up , he could see she was already angry. It was probably her reaction to him that made him ruthless, suddenly he took her face in his hands and kissed her hard.
