Chapter 970: Prince Ding Dong Part 1

"Hmmm, to think she would be so beautiful. Is that her son?" Prince Ding Dong asked.

"No, that is the newborn prince, Prince Devan. Your Highness, please pay attention when I give you a rundown of events, so you do not get into trouble. Also, please do not try to woo Princess Rain. I heard it will be as stupid as getting 2+2 wrong!" Prince Ding Dong's servant had a very worried look on his face.

"What is wrong with me trying to befriend a princess from another kingdom? It will only strengthen the ties between the two lands. I know the Devan Empire is powerful, but I do not think they would want to start a war for no reason." Prince Ding Dong did not think anyone would do anything to him if he tried to speak with Princess Rain.

"Your Highness… Please don't…." The servant was practically begging. He knew his master was someone who loved beautiful girls. He had a whole palace full of them back in the Dong Kingdom.

"Enough! I will do as I please. We will wait until after the show is over, then we will go and talk with Princess Rain." Prince Ding Dong gave his servant a sharp look causing the servant to feel a bit of unease. He heard that the Devan Empire did not care about any of that. If they wanted to start a war, it would end five minutes later with the other kingdom being taken over. In other words, it was dangerous for them to even think of trying to talk with Princess Rain in case she got mad and swatted the prince to death!

The servant had told Prince Ding Dong that all the princesses of the Devan Empire were very powerful to the point that there was no match for them on this ascended plane. But the stupid prince did not listen. He wondered if things went south, if he could slip away and find a hole to hide in some place in a demon beast infested forest. He wanted nothing to do with any of this.

Down where rain and Devan were, they sat in the audience with the citizens and had friendly chats with them. Devan, on the other hand, while being fawned over by the people around him, noticed an intense stare coming from the box seat and frowned.

"Ignore it." Rain whispered as she settled Devan in her lap. "Just enjoy the show. If they have ill will, we will deal with it after."

"Alright." Devan nodded. He would listen to his sister. If someone tried to trouble them, he would kill them. He may have just been born, but he was now the new death god. He still had his powers from his previous life.

Because his Mama had become the Goddess of Oblivion, he retained his right to be the death god upon rebirth. As such, he could just point and kill someone with withering.

The went on and it was actually a play about Kana and how she vanquished the evil emperor and took down all the evil in the empire, and brought about a new age. Rain and Devan couldn't help but chuckle since it was such an embellished story that was very far from the truth.

When the play was over, the two got up and began walking out. Only when they were out of the crowd did a man suddenly appear in front of them. He looked at Rain and smiled as he cupped his hands and said: "Princess Rain, my name is Prince Ding Dong of the Dong Kingdom. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"Ding dong?" Rain looked around…. For a second, Rain was a little confused. Did she just hear a bell? Shaking her head, she asked: "Can you repeat your name, please? I think I misheard it."

"Ahem…. My name is Prince Ding Dong…." Prince Ding Dong replied. He did not think anything was off.

"Umm…. Did your parents hate you?" Rain asked with a look of concern on her face. She felt bad for this young man. His parents must have really hated him to name him in such a way. Ding Dong…..

"No? My parents dote on me the most…." Prince Ding Dong replied he was very confused as to what was going on at this time.

"I see…. Are you sure? I mean to name someone Ding Dong is just….. Should I buy you a bell?" Rain Was unsure what she should be doing right now. Her words made Prince Ding Dong freeze. He now understood what she was talking about! Now that he figured it out, he couldn't help but blush. He suddenly felt very embarrassed. Now he truly wondered if his parents did hate him.

"Is this why the girls in my house always giggle when they same my name?" Prince Ding Dong mumbled to himself. He was starting to feel that maybe he had been really misunderstanding a lot of things.

The servant behind him began to panic. Was the prince really going to figure out why people make fun of him all the time and why his parents feel bad for him? It was the old emperor who named him because when he was born, his head kept bouncing back and forth as if he was ringing a bell! His parents had always wished to change it, but since it was passed down by the old emperor, there was nothing he could do. So he doted on his son in order to make up for the fact that he had such a silly name!

But the more Prince Ding Dong thought about it, he suddenly felt that maybe he could use this to make Princess Rain like him! As such, a plan formed in his mind as he said: "Princess Rain, would you mind if we talk? You see, I can't speak to my siblings about such things as they will only pick on me. And I can't very well talk to my parents about it, but I do wonder if you know of any good ways to get them to listen to my request to have my name changed."
