Chapter 843: Start A Fire

Fang Xinxin leaned against a tree and waited idly.

Meanwhile, Bai Qinghao began to collect dried tree branches.

Dai Weian followed them into the forest and saw that they were not doing anything out of line. Her expression became a little better.

“CEO Bai, why are you collecting tree branches?” Although Dai Weian was confused by his actions, she still approached his side to help him.

As she leaned in closer, the thick stench of a man’s odor filled his nose.

Of course, the stench was not her body’s natural odor.

However, it was clinging onto her.

Bai Qinghao did not have to think to understand that she had sold her body and slept with countless men in order to survive the past ten days.

“Scram further away!” He shouted coldly. His sharp gaze was filled with disgust and disdain.

“I’ll help you collect the tree branches.” She spoke softly and began picking them from the ground.

The large pile of tree branches were tied up into a bundle with vines.

She glanced at Fang Xinxin, who was leaning against the tree. It seemed like Fang Xinxin had no intentions of joining in. “Miss Fang, why aren’t you helping?”

“Can’t you see that my arm is injured?” She pointed to the wound on her left arm.

Dai Weian approached her side with a large bundle of tree branches in her arms. “Say, why is CEO Bai collecting these?”

“I’m afraid of the cold.” Fang Xinxin lifted her head to see that the sky was gradually turning dark.

As the sun began to set, every so often, the cry of a wolf could be heard from deep within the forest. The trees also rustled with the wind and the atmosphere was especially eerie.

Bai Qinghao collected two bundles of tree branches. He held one in each hand and returned to the yard with Fang Xinxin.

Dai Weian followed after him. She placed her pile of tree branches on top of his.

Bai Qinghao opened the backpack. He retrieved a piece of bread and a bottle of water and handed them Fang Xinxin.

Fang Xinxin opened the packet of bread and dug in. Bai Qinghao followed her.

“CEO Bai…” The sight left Dai Weian salivating. “Could you share some with me? It’s been a day since I last ate.”

His sharp gaze landed onto her.

It was clear he was unmoved by her words.

Dai Weian was internally angered by his rejection. The food in the bag was clearly hers! He had merely taken it from her.

She did not mind sharing with him.

However, it was one matter that he wasn’t giving her any. To think that he even gave some to Fang Xinxin!

Right now, considering the risks they were facing, food was especially precious. It was also important to remain alive!

Fang Xinxin finished her dinner and brought a lighter out from her backpack. She retrieved some of the dried up tree branches and piled them up on the ground. Soon, she lit a few tree branches and placed them on the pile.

“What are you doing?” Dai Weian was flabbergasted. She rushed to stomp the fire out. “No matter how cold you are, you can’t start a fire! The smoke will attract the other ‘players’!”

Fang Xinxin shoved her aside and continued adding branches into the pile. “Scram aside.”

This woman reeked of an unpleasant scent.

Dai Weian was infuriated by her anger. She turned to Bai Qinghao. “CEO Bai, did you really collect those branches to start a fire for her? I thought you meant to lay on them to sleep. It’s too dangerous to start a fire. You can’t indulge her like this…”

It would be best if Bai Qinghao chased this stupid woman away. This way, she would be able to spend intimate time with Bai Qinghao alone..
