Bai Chenxi was currently seated across Fang Xinxin. There were a lot of dishes on the table.

Following Bai Qinghao’s appearance, the atmosphere in the cafe seemed to dip.

Fang Lilan pretended to cry out in shock. “Xinxin, why are you here with Bai Chenxi? And you even ordered so much food. It looks like a grand date!”

Fang Xinxin turned to her. “Mom, why did you come back? Didn’t you say you were going to the Fang home?”

“What do you mean by that?” Fang Lilan blatantly denied it.

“Weren’t you the one who wanted to alight midway? This child, how could you be out on a date with Bai Chenxi? You even fooled your mom into going home. You told me that you were going out with Bai Qinghao. When did you become so good at lying?”

After saying so, she waited for Bai Qinghao to lose his temper. It would be best if he immediately gave Fang Xinxin several tight slaps.

To her surprise, Bai Qinghao was unmoved.

Fang Xinxin smiled coldly. “Mom, I never said I was going on a date with Bai Qinghao. You knew that I was with Bai Chenxi and intentionally brought Bai Qinghao here, didn’t you?”

Although Fang Lilan’s scheme was exposed, she did not become flustered. “Why would I do such a thing? I was just worried you would take advantage of Bai Qinghao’s kindness. You’re his fiancée. Don’t you realise that you’re letting Qinghao down by fooling around with Bai Chenxi behind his back?”

Fang Xinxin picked up the glass of milk on the table and unhurriedly took a sip. “Haha…’fooling around’. I sure have a good mother!”

Fang Lilan appeared disappointed by her immaturity. “Xinxin ah, Xinxin. How did mom teach you? As a woman, you always have to be loyal. You’ve been engaged to Qinghao since you were young. How could you date another man behind his back? To think that you even chose to do so with his cousin!”

“Anything else?” Fang Xinxin raised her brows.

Fang Lilan has never taught her a single thing. All she ever ‘learned’ was how to obtain benefits for the Fang family from Bai Qinghao, and how to be docile and obedient to the Fang family.

Fang Lilan was confused by her unruffled, relaxed appearance.

Wasn’t Fang Xinxin supposed to be wailing in terror, or shrinking up to beg for mercy?

“Bai Qinghao is such an outstanding man. It’s the blessing of your lifetime to be engaged to him. How could you not know to treasure what you have?” Fang Lilan appeared to be angered to the point of wanting to slap Fang Xinxin.

She turned to Bai Qinghao with pain etched on her face. “This is all because Auntie Fang didn’t teach Xinxin well. I never expected her to be this shameless and seduce your cousin. There’s no need to take Auntie Fang into consideration. Deal with her however you wish!”

“What do you have to say?” Bai Qinghao glanced coldly at Bai Chenxi.

His imposing aura frightened Bai Chenxi. However, he still pretended to be calm.

“Cousin…”

He recalled that Bai Qinghao did not recognise him as his cousin and quickly changed his way of addressing. “CEO Bai, I swear, I don’t have any romantic feelings for Fang Xinxin. She’s the one who kept clinging onto me. I told her that I wouldn’t see her again, yet she refused to listen. Earlier, she called me and threatened to commit suicide if I didn’t come!”

Fang Xinxin pursed her lips. How could she possibly kill herself over such a small matter?

Even if in their past life, she had only done so in front of Bai Qinghao to protect Bai Chenxi.
