Chapter 69: Secret Date?

Since yesterday, Bai Chenxi had called her several times and left her a lot of messages. But she did not respond to even one of them and all his calls went unanswered.

This fat woman was putting on airs!

“Sure. Please wait for a moment.” Ji Qing spoke respectfully and headed to the third floor.

Several moments later, she returned to inform him. “Miss Fang says she does not wish to see you.”

Bai Chenxi’s expression turned slightly poor. “I didn’t come here to see her. I came by to greet my cousin, Bai Qinghao, and wanted to say hello to her at the same time. After all, we are acquainted with each other.”

“There’s no need for you to explain this to a servant like me.”

Bai Chenxi did not continue wasting his breath. He turned to stare at the stairs and deliberated if it was worth the risk running up to visit Fang Xinxin. However, his fear of Bai Qinghao led him to give up the idea.

After dilly-dallying for two hours, he still did not see Fang Xinxin. Finally, he left with a gloomy expression.

That night, Bai Qinghao came home late and Fang Xinxin did not manage to see him. The next morning, when she woke up, he had already left for work.

Fang Xinxin felt that Bai Qinghao seemed to be avoiding her.

Bai Chenxi came to visit again, but still could not see Fang Xixin.

He was starting to believe that the ugly woman was afraid to see him. The more she feared meeting him, the more it indicated that he held an important position in her heart.

Thus, Bai Chenxi’s head was filled with confidence.

On the evening of the third day, as Fang Xinxin went around the Yu Ting Villa for her run, Bai Chenxi suddenly came there and started following her. “Fang Xinxin, stop right there!”

She pretended not to hear him and continued running.

He ran ahead to block her path. “I told you to stop. Didn’t you hear me?”

Fang Xinxin finally paused and looked at him coldly. “Do you need anything?”

Bai Chenxi took in her cold attitude and spoke impatiently. “Fang Xinxin, you’re going too far!”

She lifted her brows. “What does that mean?”

“I came to the Yu Ting Villa to visit you twice, and you intentionally avoided me on both occasions. Do you find this funny?” Bai Chenxi’s tone was filled with dissatisfaction.

“This is the third time I’m here to look for you. I won’t endure this anymore. If you do this again, I really won’t pay you any more attention!”

Fang Xinxin casually crossed her arms and sized him up disdainfully. She was too lazy to even respond to his words.

The two of them were unaware that Bai Qinghao’s figure was hidden in a corner away from their sights.

“I know I made a mistake previously.” Bai Chenxi intentionally sounded vague. He would never admit he had cheated her into eloping with him and backed out midway, or that he arranged for the car accident so that Bai Qinghao could come to the hospital to catch them in the act.

“When was this previously?” She was quite interested in what he had to say.

This was the Yu Ting Villa. She trusted that Bai Qinghao’s eyes were constantly on them.

In fact, she wouldn’t be surprised if Bai Qinghao himself was watching them right now.

Bai Chenxi was also a smart man. He wouldn’t say anything that he wasn’t supposed to.

“Nothing much. It’s just, previously at the hospital, Bai Qinghao misunderstood the both of us. Unfortunately, he didn’t believe in our innocence.” As expected, Bai Chenxi spoke warily and did not say anything inappropriate that could be used against him.

“You know that I’m Bai Qinghao’s woman, yet you came to the Yu Ting Villa to look for me. Aren’t you afraid of Bai Qinghao coming after you?” Fang Xinxin was unruffled as she asked him with a quirk of her brow.

Bai Chenxi scanned their surroundings warily. He had a lot to say but could only restrain himself. “As I said, I came here to greet my cousin. He wasn’t here. You and I have been acquainted for many years. So I wanted to use this opportunity to clear up the misunderstanding between us.”

After saying this loudly, he lowered his voice so that only Fang Xinxin could hear him. “Three hour later, let’s meet at Ya Yue Cafe.”
