Chapter 137: Sharing A Meal

There was no way the Fang family’s chefs could have prepared these delectable dishes. Their appearances alone were sufficient to greatly stimulate everyone’s appetite.

Bai Qinghao pulled a chair out for Fang Xinxin.

His considerate action caused Fang Manxue’s eyes to burn in jealousy.

Immediately, she adjusted her expression and concealed the envy. She then curved her lips into a fawning smile. “CEO Bai, there are so many dishes here. You won’t be able to finish these even if there were more people. May I join you?”

“What makes you think that you are worthy?” A hint of unhappiness appeared in Bai Qinghao’s sharp eyes.

Fang Manxue’s smile stiffened.

Fang Lilan saw that her daughter was refused and cajoled him sweetly. “CEO Bai, please don’t be upset with Manxue. She’s still young and immature.”

Deep in her heart, she knew that Bai Qinghao would not be moved by the Fang family under the current circumstances.

Thus, Fang Lilan shifted her stern gaze onto Fang Xinxin. “Xinxin ah, your second uncle, your second sister and I are all starving. Why haven’t you asked us to join you yet?”

Fang Xinxin was transported back to the times when the Fang family used to leave her out whenever there was good food to eat. They only offered her the leftovers. She had never enjoyed even a bite of their luxurious, delectable dishes.

They had claimed it was to help her lose weight.

“The Fang family chefs have already prepared your food, haven’t they?” Fang Xinxin responded calmly. “You can set up another table.”

“How could our Fang home’s chefs compete with the chefs from the Yu Ting Villa.”

More importantly, it was a great honor to have a meal with Bai Qinghao. If news about this spread, countless people would rush to fawn on them in the near future. Fang Lilan had a loving smile on her face. “Xinxin ah, you’ve always been a filial child. Quickly request CEO Bai on our behalf.”

Long Shuhai also said, “Yes, it’s rare for us to have a meal as a family.”

“Indeed. It’s been a long time since we ate as a family.” Fang Xinxin sneered mockingly.

Just as the Fang family assumed she would speak on their behalf to Bai Qinghao, Fang Xinxin changed the topic. “All this while, I’ve always been eating leftovers in the storeroom, while the rest of you enjoyed delicacies in the dining room. You never once offered any good food to me. Now that I have these delicacies to enjoy, why do I have to share them with you?”

Upon hearing this, Bai Qinghao’s expression darkened.

Fang Lilan noticed that Bai Qinghao’s face was becoming stormy and she rushed to respond quickly. “Xinxin ah, you child, what are you talking about? Haven’t we always been eating the same food? Even if we stopped you from eating some things, it was because you’re overweight. Mom was worried you would fall sick. I was only trying to help you lose weight.”

“That’s right.” Fang Manxue chimed in.

“CEO Bai, don’t listen to her. My third sister is so fat. She is clearly eating ten times better than me. Otherwise, how could she have developed such a figure?”

Fang Xinxin’s current weight did not happen only because she had eaten a large amount of oily and unhealthy food under Fang Manxue’s insinuations. It was mostly because she had consumed food that contained drugs that would stimulate weight gain.

But right now, she did not have any evidence of Fang Manxue’s actions.

Sooner or later, Fang Manxue would strike again. When that happened, she would be ready to catch her in the act!

Don’t think that I’m helpless just because I don’t have any evidence right now.

Long Shuhai chimed in sincerely. “CEO Bai, Xinxin’s personality is a little rebellious right now. Don’t listen to her lies. She is Lilan’s blood-related daughter. How could the Fang family abuse her?”

Bai Qinghao did not believe the versions provided by Fang Lilan, Long Shuhai and Fang Manxue. He asked them with a dark expression. “Where is the storeroom that Fang Xinxin lived in?”

He wanted to see it for himself, the sort of place where Fang Xinxin was previously made to live in!
