When they returned to the room, Qi Hao still had yet to react to his sister-in-law’s words. Was his sister-in-law saying that Lu Ningwen really would be fine? Then, who would be the one in trouble?

Qi Hao’s heart tightened. After closing the door, he hurriedly asked his sister-in-law, “Sister-in-law, what’s going on? Will Brother Lu really be alright tonight?”

Between Lu Ningwen or that Yun woman, Qi Hao was naturally more partial toward Lu Ningwen, whom he had a better relationship with. Song Yanru was filled with indescribable regret. She was afraid that Sister He had told Master Chi that she wanted to kick her out.

But Sister He shouldn’t be so stupid. Still, even if she really said it, she couldn’t acknowledge it now. Song Yanru gritted her teeth and continued to explain, “Master Chi, Sister He might have misunderstood you for some reason before. Don’t take issue with her. If this hadn’t happened to Sister He, I would definitely have brought her here to apologize to you. Sister He has always been especially opinionated. Even if I interfere, she usually won’t listen given how stubborn she can be. I came especially to apologize to you on Sister He’s behalf.”

Chi Shuyan listened as the woman in front of her made herself sound good – as expected of someone from the entertainment circle. However, Chi Shuyan wasn’t stupid. She didn’t believe that He Liuqing would dare chase her out without this woman’s permission. Moreover, given this woman’s current status, how could He Liuqing dare disobey her?

Song Yanru’s fingers subconsciously curled up and her nails dug into her flesh as she thought about the difference in treatment. Her expression was very uncertain.
