Chapter 2040 Dog Fight

Thor felt like he was drowning in a thick swamp of mud.

He couldn't move, he couldn't swim, he couldn't scream, and he couldn't even breathe.He is commanding his teammates, but almost every single command is useless. Because he couldn't focus on the whole battle.

Right now, he is being pressured down by Jack.

*KEEN*

Sword keened with every Jack's every swing.

*CLANG* *CLANG*

The hammer and the sword are clashing. Even with Thor's brute force, he was unable to push Jack back. From the initial look, Jack's sword style felt light, agile, and precise. None of them should be related to Thor's style, which is heavy, destructive, and brutish.

Thor activated lightning fusion and jumped at Jack with a heavy swing of his hammer.

Jack on the other hand looked nonchalant. Except for his eyes that are focused, his body language looked loose and relaxed.

*RUMBLE*

Lightning roared in the sky and a few thunderbolts attached themselves to Thor's boosting the attack. As he neared Jack and was about to make contact, Jack gently kicked on the ground throwing his body into the air.

His movements seemed light as a feather and slow as a snail, but he is quite the opposite. Jack made a turn in the air. As if he teleported, he appeared right behind Thor as he swung the sword.

He is fast. Thor could barely follow his movements with his eyes. His worldview cracked a bit. He hasn't seen such speed in a non-elemental fusion form. Jack swung his sword.

Thor didn't block it. He didn't have enough time, instead, he leaned forward and hit the ground with his hammer. He used the maximum strength he could muster from that angle and timing.

*BOOM*

The shockwave disrupted the surrounding battle a bit and Jack also took the brunt of it.

He had to cover his eyes because of the lightning flash that came from it.When the flash is gone, everyone was dumbfounded by what they saw.

There was no crater. The expected sight of destruction is nowhere to be seen. Instead there is a long and straight skid mark as if a cannon ball is fired exactly on the surface of the earth. The line started right below Jack's feet and on the other end stood Thor with his hammer.

He redirected the force so that it could give him a boost and go past the current encirclement.

In front of everyone's shocked gazes, Thor turned his tail and ran.

"I will definitely kill you." Of course, not before spewing out a threat that didn't match his actions.

He activated fusion to its limits and tried his best to run away. When he turned around to take a look, he saw Jack just standing there with the blade of his sword resting on his shoulders.

He is way too laidback and Thor didn't understand why, but the next moment, he sensed a threat, he looked ahead and he saw a humanoid figure with wings on his back coming at him like a hawk coming after a rabbit.

Sam caught Thor by his throat and didn't even give him time to react.

He spun in the air and closed his wings off. With the momentum of that spin, he landed in the middle of the battle…

*BOOM*

And slammed Thor into the ground.

"Come on, I just came to join the party and you are leaving? No way."

Thor swung his hammer to hit Sam, but he already moved. Not because of the hammer, but rather because White was about to crash into him with one of his signature recoil shots.

*BOOM*

He crashed into the ground. There was no crater though, instead, all the force that came from the crash is concentrated in the exact area where his foot touched the ground. It is a very small area and all that force is directed there.

He used the recoil trick once again and kicked with all the force shooting himself like a missile at Sam.

He was fast and Sam didn't react to it immediately, he barely dodged but still White managed to hit him in the shoulder. Sam didn't let it go. He caught a hold of White's Coat twisted his body to the side and smashed him into the ground. Head first.

Even with that hit, the mask didn't loosen up.

Sam took a step back and White stood up, looking at him coldly.

By now, Thor also stood up. He looked at White and Sam coldly. His anger is surging to his head. If he gets any angrier, he might just pop a vessel. White lunged and shot at Sam with his recoil hit. He held cane that was pointed at Sam's heart.

Sam deflected the attack. He used the same trick that he used back in the Olympian region. But a bit improvised.

The Deflected move was directed at Thor who didn't expect it. He was about to turn around and run once again. Only this time, Jack kicked him back into the line of the attack.

The cane's pointed end hit Thor on the chest and he was shot out like a cannonball. He felt humiliated, but when he thought about how he could at least get out of this encirclement once again, reality hit him in the face in the form of Five Elemental King's attack.

Night Ghost appeared in front of him and slapped him to the ground.

At the exact moment, White was about to land a strike on Sam, who was grinning wildly while he used his wood element to grab Thor and another person from the opponent's team to use as meatshields.

White was so frustrated that he kicked both of them out with recoil kicks and this time, Thor knew someone would kick his ass in the air, so he controlled himself forcefully to not get out of the encirclement.

Ironically, he landed right in front of Jack, who had a faint smile on his face.

The spectators are all screaming in excitement. This is a nasty dog fight and they are all here for it. Particularly the common citizens and the outsiders who just came here to watch the show. Thor Academy students and instructors of course had a sour face.

But one student group of Thor Academy in particular had a really bad expression on their faces.

While everyone is watching the exciting fight, they are not. Instead, they are sitting in a meeting room across from Dove who is leaning into her chair with a relaxed posture.

"Dove, you should better be kidding. Or your current attitude might be taken as a declaration of war."

Dove looked at the woman who spoke and the next moment the other party shut up. She redirected her gaze back to the leader who sat at the central seat on the other side of the table.

"Flok.

The fact that the student lottery was messed up for the team competition is a big deal. Unless there is elder-level involvement, it wouldn't happen. If you don't reveal the details and make right of this situation with a proper explanation, you are going to suffer the consequences."

Flok looked at Dove with a deep frown. That frown stayed there from the moment she came in.

"What makes you think that Thor Academy did this?"

Dove's gaze is cold, but apart from that there is no expression. She played with her nails and didn't reply. Flok continued.

"Just because some kids went after that guy named Sam in the team competition, you think the competition is rigged? Just how narcissistic are you guys to think that a mere Gambler academy will warrant us to use such measures?"

Dove raised an eyebrow and said.

"Flok, I am not here to argue with you. I am not here to discuss and reach a common ground. If the Thor Academy is not going to investigate, I am going to take this to the Academy Realm's Judicial powers.

I will blow the fuck out of this matter and make it go out of proportion.

Even if that investigation fails to reveal any concrete evidence, as long as I smell so much as reasonable suspicion, I will lead my academy members to come after the Thor Academy.

Then, you will answer your own question, whether Gambler Academy warrants you suck sneaky measures or not."

Her voice was calm and collected, but they could smell the underlying venom. She meant what she said.

She gave them a sweeping glance when Flok spoke up.

"Even if you feel there is an issue, it is up to your Elder to talk to us. It is not your place to do anything. Because of your wily bitchy attitude, we already informed our elders, they will meet your Elder Chorus and send an official notice to Gambler Academy about your undiplomatic attitude towards us.

If you really think you can take this to Academy Realms' Judicial Department, by all means, go ahead. But you don't have authority. Only your Elder can and the whole realm knows what kind of person that Chorus is."

Dove chuckled slightly and gave them a pitying look before leaving.

"It seems like you want to do this the hard way. You better pray your Elders to give in. Or I will make you all cry like newborn babies."
