Chapter 359: Where is it?

Xie Lianzhen who was currently obsessed with alchemy brought little boo along with him everywhere he went.

“Lower the fire a bit, yeah that’s it.”

“Good.”

Lu Mingshu stood in the middle of the herbal garden, scanning the garden slowly.

It’s just a mustard seed pouch, nothing important. But if one could freeze time in the whole garden, he must be extremely powerful. And to store that one special herb, the emperor was willing to sacrifice the growing of all the other herbs. How rare must that herb be?

~What is it?~

“Okay, open the lid now.”

“Ka.” Little boo followed his instruction and Lu Mingshu could smell something sweet.

She could see Xie Lianzhen walking over with something one his hand that looked like candy.

“What are you thinking about?” He took one and tried to stuff it in her mouth.

Lu Mingshu unconsciously pushed him away.

“It’s not anything harmful. I just made this, a Congeal Constituent Pill.”

Lu Mingshu stared at him weirdly.

“Yeah. Just try one.” Xie Lianzhen smiled.

Lu Mingshu took a pill and examined it. ~Xie Lianzhen indeed has talent in alchemy, this pill looks quite pure.~

She nodded and ate the pill.

It melted in her mouth instantly, and it tasted sweet. ~it’s like a sweet, but I’ve had numerous congeal constitution pills before, are they sweet to begin with?~

“I just added some dried fruit, so it should taste a bit sweet. So we can just take it as a snack!”

Seeing him smile proudly, Lu Mingshu nodded. “Not bad.”

“You like it? Then I’ll go make more!”

Seeing her deep in thought, Xie Lianzhen scooted over and tapped her. “What are you thinking about?”

~He is smart, and it’s not like he doesn’t know me well.~ Lu Mingshu took out her pocket watch and put it in front of him.

“Wow, what’s this?” Xie Lianzhen eyes widen.

“A clock. The minute hand is here, the second hand is here and …” Lu Mingshu explained.

“Time has slowed down?” Xie Lianzhen immediately realized what was wrong.

“Yeah.” Lu Mingshu nodded. “But I feel that it’s the time zone that has become stagnant…”

She used her mustard seed pouch as an example, and Xie Lianzhen understood immediately. “So you are looking for the special item that the emperor is guarding?”

“Yes.”

Xie Lianzhen walked around the herbal garden and stopped right in front of the red needle tree.

“I wouldn’t have wasted time hiding it if I was the emperor.”

“Why?”

“This garden is extremely secluded. Anybody who can get here would either be the emperor, or somebody stronger than him. ” Xie Lianzhen hummed and tapped the tree. “What do you think about this tree?”

“It’s planted in the best spot around the entire garden.” Lu mingshu replied.

The tree was planted in the best geographical position in the garden, it would get direct sunlight. When they reached it, Xie Lianzhen placed the ley line spiritual root he got from the jade west mountain forest to gather energy.

“The best thing should be placed in the best location!” Lu Mingshu suddenly realized.

Xie Lianzhen nodded and carrased the red needle tree. He held onto its branch and climbed up on the tree.

There was a huge receptacle hanging from the tree, but there was nothing on it. The fruit should have been picked.

Xie Lianzhen moved closer and put his hand inside.

He grinned and after awhile, he pulled something out from the receptacle.

“Look!”

~….All bad characters think alike huh? How would they think of looking for it there?~

Xie Lianzhen gave it to her. “Open it up and see what’s inside.”

It was a small parcel, with a fossilised amber that is as huge as her palm in it. But the colour was so dark that she could not see what was inside.

They both took turns to examine it, but they still couldn’t tell what it was.

“Eh? There is something here.” Xie Lianzhen took the leather that was used to wrap the amber that they put aside.

Lu Mingshu took it and started examining it with him. There were scribbles on the leather, and the sentence was broken.

Even so, it made the two of them extremely excited.

After reading it many times, the both of them had memorised what was on the leather.

“We are damn lucky! Xie Lianzhen mumbled.

“Yeah.” Lu Mingshu hummed, but she was equally excited.

It might be scribbles, but after sometime, they were able to figure out that it was the emperor’s own recorded experience when he broke through to the freezing spirit phase. It might be messy, but it was thorough and in depth too.

Xie Lianzhen clapped his hands and stood up. “Previously we got a book from gentleman Ji, and there were ways that taught people how to break through inside. It was simple, but now we have this leather, we will be even clearer on how to break through. The cultivators here surely cultivate differently compared to the ones in ancient china. Their spells may even work better than our sword skills from what I see based on the few we have met. If we learned their same techniques, we will have another self defence method.

Xie Lianzhen suddenly stood up and laughed. “Okay, let’s do this when I have recovered, and if it works, you can do the same when you break through.”

However, Lu Mingshu’s stared at him weirdly.

“Why? Is there something wrong with what I said?” Seeing her gaze, Xie Lianzhen asked confusedly. He thought that his plan was perfect!

“Nah. It’s okay.” ~No matter the circumstance, he will also strive to be first. Both him and Yan Wugui.~

And soon, Xie Lianzhen returned to being obsessed with alchemy and the various ways of breaking through that he almost forgot about Lu Mingshu.

Lu Mingshu did not know if she should feel happy that Xie Lianzhen was finally not harassing her or worried anything might go wrong. ~He is quite unlucky eh? After he met me, he hasn’t stopped getting injured. I bet he has gotten more injuries now compared to twenty years ago. ~

She shook her head and went into the heavenly wheel and placed information on the fossil on the forum, looking for more clues.

At first, there were only people who came to take a look, which wasn’t really useful. After sometime, she finally received a useful reply, however. “This should be a winter summer stone, congrats, you are rich!”

Lu Mingshu immediately contacted him. “Hi, do you know what this is?”

The other party was looking around the forum, thus she received a fast reply. “Have you heard of caterpillar fungus?”

“Yeah.”

“Similar to that. It’s an egg in the beginning, and after being infected by bacteria, it stays as is and turns to look like a stone. But it has already grown.”

“How can I make use of this?” Lu Mingshu thought for a moment and added. “If this gentleman can inform me, I’ll surely thank you well.”

She then sent an invitation for a portal and sent a Yuan crystal over.

The other party did not expect her to really sent a gift over. When he received the Yuan crystal, he laughed and replied. “An egg that can stay in its original form even after being infected must belong to a very powerful type of beast. Your winter summer stone seems to only be half formed. The bacteria has not fully infected the egg inside, but when it has, it will evolve and you will be able to use it. Most people sell them in liquid form.” The other party then further examined it and added on. “I’m unsure if your stone will survive with the state it is in. I suggest that miss gets a senior with higher cultivation to deal with it or it may die.”

“How can I help it grow?” Lu Mingshu asked immediately.

“Force. But you need high cultivation.”

Lu Mingshu immediately understood why the emperor froze time. It was because he did not have time to take care of the stone now.
