Chapter 2223: The Taboo's Hand, Part Two

Qin Nan did not make his move. He sat on the ground with his legs crossed and waited patiently.

Half an hour later, ripples appeared from the rift ahead. Empress Feiyue walked out of the rift in a long white dress.

"You're here," Qin Nan smiled.

Something strange and special was flickering deep in his eyes too.

"Mm."

Empress Feiyue avoided Qin Nan's gaze and said in her usual cold tone, "You will keep an eye on the Supreme Daoism factions, the Heaven Highness Clans, and the ancient tribes, I'll worry about the Rulers of Dao."

Qin Nan wore a confused look, "What is your plan?"

Empress Feiyue did not speak. She took out an ancient scroll and performed a hand seal. The sky within a few tens of thousand li immediately turned gray.

Qin Nan's eyes flickered with astonishment.

He could sense the place suddenly being erased from the Thirty-Second Small Immortal Realm, as if it had ceased to exist.

The power of a Ruler of Dao was extraordinary indeed, especially in Empress Feiyue's case.

"The Wordless Scroll of Heavens, turning all things into void!"

Empress Feiyue unleashed a formidable power of Rules. The ancient scroll she was holding buzzed and flipped to the last page. Rays of light burst out of it.

Each light formed a screen in the air.

Each screen was showing figures. Some were constructing ancient formations. Others were controlling ancient mirrors.

"Are these...the factions who are after the Ancient Taboo?" Qin Nan wore a strange expression.

He finally understood what Empress Feiyue meant.

These factions and reputable Rulers of Dao had no idea they were watching them and enjoying the outcome of their hard work.

They would also find out where the Ancient Taboo was hiding too if any of the factions managed to track it down first.

"I bet Empress Feiyue will soon become the strongest Ruler of Dao considering her talents," Qin Nan thought.

The woman who was cold like ice had always been a legend in the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm. She would soon be unbeatable among the cultivators of the same level.

Once Empress Feiyue reached the peak Ruler Realm, Eternal Night Heaven Highness who claimed to be the strongest cultivator in the Primary Upper Realm would most likely lose his title. 

Qin Nan calmed his thoughts and focused on the screens.

He was not too familiar with the Rulers of Dao of the different factions. He could use the time to observe them and their capabilities.

Time gradually passed. Five days were gone in no time.

The cultivators in the Thirty-Second Small Immortal Realm were under great pressure as if a deadly storm was coming.

In the past few days, many cultivators had gathered before leaving the Small Immortal Realm together.

Only a few who were above the Earth Immortal Realm had decided to stay. They were planning to alter their destinies by claiming the fortunate encounters amid the deadly storm.

"Li Posheng and his crew have found the Ancient Taboo," Empress Feiyue suddenly said.

"Mm?"

Qin Nan was startled. He quickly looked at the respective screen.

Inside it, Li Posheng, Zheng Di, Ruler Anxiao, and the others seemed overjoyed. The illusionary copper mirror not far from them was displaying a pitch-black valley.

Inside the valley were rays of blood-red light shining upon skeletons that were sitting on the ground. They were performing hand seals while murmuring chants.

In front of them was a skeleton covered in blood. Raging flames were rolling in its eyes as it constantly unleashed ripples of energy.

It was like they were conducting an ancient ritual.

Li Posheng, Zheng Di, Ruler Anxiao, and the others took out a light golden cloth and poured their energy of the Ruler Realm into it. The cloth expanded rapidly and soon hovered above them. 

They soon disappeared under the cloth and turned into golden light rays which flew out of the Thirty-Second Small Immortal Realm at a shocking pace.

It was obvious that they did not want the others to know their whereabouts. They had used an ancient Dao-Seeking Weapon to conceal their movements.

"The Ancient Taboo is hiding inside one of the ancient rules in the Thirty-Third Small Immortal Realm."

Empress Feiyue said after giving it a thought, "Why don't we spread the news?"

Qin Nan immediately understood Empress Feiyue's intention.

Ancient Taboo was Cang's trusted aide. Even though its cultivation was only in the Master Realm, it would not be defeated easily either. 

Second, the Ancient Taboo had been planning for Cang's reincarnation for two years. It must have make the necessary preparations to stop its enemies from stopping Cang's reincarnation.

If they spread the news, the Ancient Taboo might struggle to fend off all of them.

It was even possible to kill the Ancient Taboo. The Ancient Taboo had nowhere to run even though the factions had to compete with one another to claim Cang's possessions.

If the Ancient Taboo managed to hold its ground, it would have to pay a greater price and rely on its trump cards.

"Splendid!"

Qin Nan nodded. The two immediately flew out of the Thirty-Second Small Immortal Realm.

A hundred breaths later, an ancient forbidden land deep inside the Northern Region of the Thirty-Third Small Immortal Realm...

Strange voices were echoing in all directions.

A wisp of power was gradually growing stronger.

"Master!"

A skeleton resembling a tiger suddenly appeared and uttered with a thunderous voice, "The Li Clan, Zheng Clan, and Ruler Anxiao have discovered our whereabouts. They are on their way here!"

The Ancient Taboo asked calmly, "Are the other factions coming too?"

The skeleton shook its head and said, "According to our intel, the Rulers of Dao of the other factions are still searching for us. The Dao-Trespassing Formation we have set above the barrier of the Thirty-Third Small Immortal Realm has yet to show any reaction..."

It added after a brief pause, "The Dao-Trespassing Formation had a reaction just now. A Ruler of Dao and a Master of Dao have entered the Thirty-Third Small Immortal Realm."

The Ancient Taboo chuckled, "Four Rulers of Dao isn't going to pose a threat to us! If they are so eager to take me down, I'll teach them that even a scrawny camel is bigger than a horse!"

It let out a relieved sigh.

It had taken its master's reincarnation away so its master would be reincarnated successfully. It had also made a lot of preparations over the past two years.

It seemed like it did not have to give up on that thing!
