Perhaps Han Minghong was afraid that people would see his tantrum, for he quickly left her residence while feigning disinterest. Otherwise, Du Xiaoli was not sure whether she would be able to resist tossing a basin of foot-washing water out at him.

“Mistress,” Xia Yuan said as she walked over, “What would happen if Prince Ren really revealed information about the secret book?”

“We’ll deal with it when it happens. Besides, with my current strength, they can’t just simply snatch it away from me,” Du Xiaoli replied. “This Han Minghong’s really quite irritating. Nevertheless, this was normal as both parties needed to properly sort out their own people and matters of compensation, making it hard to come up with a decision in a short period of time.
