“Qiuhe!”

He Bai woke up in a cold sweat, he groped around in the dark for his phone, he dialed Di Qiuhe’s number and waited it to get through anxiously.

“Puppy?” there came Di Qiuhe’s voice, he sounded half awake.

Hearing that familiar voice, He Bai let out a sigh of relief and he slumped into the bed the next second. His heart was still pounding, he found himself having a hard time uttering any word due to stress, he could only breathe heavily.

“Puppy? What’s going on? Are you all right?”

Di Qiuhe asked with concern, you could tell he was wide awake now due to fear.

He Bai wiped his forehead and swallowed some water, “Qiuhe, I’m fine, I just had a nightmare, please go back to sleep, sorry I’ve woken you up.”

He Bai’s voice still sounded quaking, that worried Di Qiuhe a lot. He frowned and got out of bed while asking Bai, “Tell me where you are, I need to see you.” with that he grabbed a jacket and his wallet.

“You don’t need to come, it’s too late now.”

“Tell me where you are, give me your address.” demanded Di Qiuhe.

Recalling the nightmare just now, He Bai still didn’t have peace of mind, therefore he gave up the “not seeing you until the ceremony” plan, he knew he wanted to see Di Qiuhe more than ever. He told Di Qiuhe the address of the hotel and told him not to come alone, he needed to take at least one bodyguard.

Di Qiuhe agreed, he comforted He Bai on the phone while he kept frowning subconsciously.

Knock knock.

He Bai opened the door promptly, he was about to greet Qiuhe when he was hugged tightly by Qiuhe.

“Puppy, everything is all right now, no need to be afraid any more, I’m here.”

The familiar hug, familiar aroma, familiar patting on the back, He Bai felt so secure in Di Qiuhe’s arms, he relaxed his mind and body and hugged Di Qiuhe back, “I’m not afraid of anything, I just miss you so much.”

Di Qiuhe kissed He Bai on the forehead and hugged him tighter, he then signaled the bodyguard to leave. With that they went to the room and closed the door, he stroked He Bai’s hair and asked with concern, “What’s the nightmare about? How’s your cold? Have you been sleeping poorly lately?”

“Everything is fine.” He Bai caught hold of Di Qiuhe’s hand and patted him as comfort.

“Is this a bruise?” asked Di Qiuhe, pointing at the back of He Bai’s hand, then he continued, “So you went to the hospital? You had an intravenous drip? And you didn’t tell me?”

He Bai had no idea what he should say to make it look plausible, he was still fishing for excuses when Di Qiuhe carried him in the arms from the sofa.

Di Qiuhe looked around the room, his eyes landed on some tablets and capsules on the nightstand.

Di Qiuhe’s face turned clouded, He Bai blamed himself in the heart for forgetting to put the medicine in the drawer. He also kind of regretted calling Di Qiuhe and asking him to come over at midnight.

“You are having a really bad cold, yeah? I… …” Di Qiuhe turned back to look at He Bai, he planned to give He Bai a piece of his mind, but seeing He Bai looking at him with those big puppy eyes, he couldn’t say anything harsh.

“But are you feeling better now?”

He Bai nodded and caught hold of Di Qiuhe’s hand.

“Great, now it’s bed time for you, little puppy.” Di Qiuhe sat next to He Bai.

Hearing that, He Bai beamed and rolled over to the other side of the bed, signaling Di Qiuhe to take this side.

“This isn’t over yet.” said Di Qiuhe, he took off his jacket and cuddled He Bai, “but for now, we need to get some sleep.”

Nestling in Di Qiuhe’s arms, He Bai closed his eyes comfortably, he mumbled, “Childish Di, you are a beautiful man.” He Bai knew just the right way to make Di Qiuhe feel better.

And he was just being honest, Di Qiuhe was indeed one beautiful man.

Di Qiuhe’s forehead unknitted, he cuddled He Bai tighter and pretended he was still mad, “Bed time, now.”

He Bai decoded the underlying meaning, he kissed Di Qiuhe on the cheek and fell asleep in Di Qiuhe’s arms.

Di Qiuhe squeezed He Bai’s butt when he noticed his puppy had fallen asleep. Then he took a closer look at the bruise on the back of He Bai’s hand, he kissed the bruise and felt He Bai’s forehead to make sure Bai was actually feeling better now.
