Begging For Food From The Neighbors

“However, after all, there’s no knowing what’s in a person’s heart. To truly understand a person, you still need to observe more.” The butler spoke his thoughts honestly.

“Is there anything to eat at home?” Fang Yao quickly changed the topic. If he did not, the butler would continue talking.

When Fang Yao asked this, the butler did not say anything more. He thought for a while and replied, “Because you always tell me in advance every time you eat at home. You didn’t tell me this time, so we only have the desserts flown in from France yesterday. Are you hungry? If you want to eat, I’ll have someone prepare it now.”

Fang Yao shook his head. “There’s no need to go through so much trouble. Just heat up the desserts.”

“Alright,” he said. The butler quickly went to prepare.

On Yin Xun’s side, after she returned home, she first changed into a set of comfortable pajamas before she started to remove her makeup and washed up. After she was done, she sat on the sofa and was about to read some documents when her stomach started to growl.

She had only had a little red wine that night and did not even eat any snacks. Now that she was home, her stomach immediately protested.

She got up and went to the kitchen to take a look, but there was nothing. Then she went to the refrigerator to look and found that the vegetables in the refrigerator were all spoiled.

She could not go out for a meal because this area was isolated. Almost every house had a maid, and there were no restaurants nearby. Yin Xun clutched her growling stomach, her face full of worry.

In this state, she definitely could not focus on reading the documents. It was not time to sleep yet, so she had no choice but to go to the balcony to get some fresh air. Maybe she would feel better.

Yin Xun stared at the sky and emptied her mind. As expected, this method was very effective. She immediately felt her stomach feel much better.

“Pa—” The window opposite was opened, and Fang Yao appeared in front of Yin Xun with a cup in his hand. The two of them were stunned when they saw each other.

Because Yin Xun had “peeked” at him before, and now that she had been seen on the balcony, she was afraid that Fang Yao would misunderstand, so Yin Xun quickly explained, “I didn’t peek at you this time. I was here just now to look at the stars.”

Fang Yao looked in the direction Yin Xun was pointing and looked up at the sky. Dark clouds covered the sky tonight, and only a little of the moon was visible. There were no stars at all.

It might have been better if she did not explain, but with this explanation, she seemed to be even more suspicious.

“Are you planning to sleep?” Fang Yao took a look at Yin Xun’s pajamas and changed the topic considerately.

Seeing that he did not mind this, Yin Xun secretly heaved a sigh of relief and replied, “I wanted to sleep, but I didn’t eat tonight. I’ll sleep after I’m no longer hungry.”

Hearing Yin Xun’s words, Fang Yao frowned. “Why didn’t you eat? Was there nothing to your liking at the banquet?”

“The food there was too greasy. I couldn’t eat it,” Yin Xun shook her head.

Fang Yao did not think much of her words and assumed that Yin Xun did not like the food there. He nodded and said, “I still have some snacks at home. They’re not greasy and are quite light. Do you want some?”

“Really?” Yin Xun instantly perked up. “But it’s not good to eat your food for free. How about this, how much do you think is appropriate? I’ll give you the money later.”

“No need for money. After all, I also sat in your car tonight.” Fang Yao said indifferently.

“Then I won’t say no. Can I go over now?” Yin Xun looked at him in anticipation.

Fang Yao was speechless.

He had thought that Yin Xun would be reserved and wait for him to take the initiative to tell her how to give it to her. He did not expect her to be so forward and directly go to his door to get it herself.

“You don’t need to come. I’ll get someone to send it over to you.” After Fang Yao finished speaking, he left from the window.

Yin Xun was famished and immediately ran to the door in anticipation, waiting for Fang Yao to get someone to bring the food.

Within a few minutes, the villa’s doorbell rang, and a kind-looking middle-aged man appeared on the display screen at the door. It was Fang Yao’s butler, and he was holding a lunchbox in his hand.

After Yin Xun thanked the butler, she opened the lunchbox and started to eat. The food in the lunchbox was still steaming. It seemed that it had just been heated up. Other than an exquisite snack, there was also a glass of hot milk.

She did not expect Fang Yao to be so considerate, and she was very grateful.
