Chapter 2210.2: Final Trump Card

Terra Demon made his move, sending argent radiance at Yan Lengqiao like it was sword light. The golden immortal crossed his arms and raised green immortal light in response, firmly blocking the attack.

He was flung backward like a cannonball.

The ripples resulting from a fight between two golden immortals could only be described as earth-shattering. Dark Orchid soldiers who didn’t have time to escape were immediately vaporized. The capital’s residents gaped at the sky. Immortals of legend were falling from the sky like dumplings being dropped into a pot!

“Immortal Burial Valley? Why do I think Dark City should be renamed to that instead…” Lu Xiaochi murmured as he watched the scene.

“Pfft, only a few have died so far.” Lu Yun rolled his eyes.

“Young master, we’re back!” Gus Xie and Bloodbath returned at this time with a jade seal. They didn’t dare approach the northern gate given the harrowing ripples of battle, so they circled around to the southern gate.

“This is…” Lu Tianling’s expression shifted when he received the pill.

“The Shennong Life Restoring Pill,” the young man answered calmly. His grandfather’s internal injuries were so severe that his internal circulation was a complete mess. If it wasn’t for the crimson halberd supporting the man, he would’ve already keeled over.

“The Shennong Life Restoring Pill?” Situ Wenxian’s eyes went wide. This was a legendary pill recorded in books! Not even the Human Emperor ever owned one, but the young man easily took one out?

The battle outside the city was reaching its conclusion. Rays of silver light danced around Terra Demon, overpowering Yan Lengqiao. The latter had to work in tandem with several other immortals to barely keep his opponent in check.

There was no doubt whatsoever what the final outcome would be. Terra Demon and Mu Ge were respectively mid golden immortal and peak initial golden immortal. As numerous as the Origin Sect was, they were no match for two powerhouses of the ancient world of immortals.

The image of a silver sword appeared in Terra Demon’s crossed hands. It easily ran Yan Lengqiao through when it moved. Eyes wide open, the golden immortal stared incredulously.

“How can you… I already…” Vitality drained from his body.

“That lamp may be able to protect the brand of your nascent soul, but it cannot deter my immortal king nascent soul.” Terra Demon shook his head and grabbed Yan Lengqiao’s corpse, throwing it at Dark City. “What’s to come will always come.”

He stood down after killing Yan Lengqiao, looking deeply at the northern sky. Mu Ge paused her movements and drew close to Terra Demon. The Origin Sect immortals lost their direction with the death of Yan Lengqiao. They cheered at Mu Ge’s reprieve and swiftly gathered in the northern direction.

Out of the more than ten thousand immortals, two thousand would forever remain in this world.

“Terra Demon, leave only three alive,” Lu Yun commanded coldly as he flew up from the city walls.

The man immediately formed hand seals and brought down a curtain of silver light from the sky. It fully enveloped the less than ten thousand survivors.

Kaboom!

Overwhelming energy of heaven and earth trembled, causing vacant looks in those trapped by the curtain of light. There were no vital signs coming from them anymore. Three august immortals with their cultivation sealed were thrown onto the city walls.

Lu Yun waved the sword pagoda out of his dantian and swiftly collected all of the immortal corpses on the battlefield.

A collection of incomparably enormous black clouds rushed toward this part of the world from the northern horizon. A domineering man dressed in golden armor stood in front of them, at least one hundred thousand immortals of varying cultivation arranged behind him!

“Arcane immortal,” Terra Demo said slowly when he saw the man. Lu Yun took a deep breath, gravity flashing through his eyes.

“Was my assumption incorrect and it’s not Marquis Origin who’s come?” The young man frowned.

“Mu Ge and I should be able to force him back, but the one hundred thousand immortals behind him are another trouble.” Terra Demon was uncharacteristically grave. He and Mu Ge were not true golden immortals —they just possessed the battle strength of mid and initial golden immortal. They were still weaker than arcane immortals.

“How dare you kill this king’s men!” As the black clouds drew closer, the man in golden armor stared down Terra Demon and Mu Ge. He was more than three meters tall and exuded a presence of being loftier and superior to all. His expression was remote to the core—there wasn’t a hint of emotion to be found within it.

“This king? You are one of the titled kings of Great Xia?” Lu Yun furrowed his brows at the speaker.

“Yun’er… he is Marquis Origin.” Lu Tianling’s voice rang out as he exited the boundary. “To think that you would become a titled king and come in person! This is truly the honors of honor for our minor Darklake Empire.”

Three parts despair, three parts sarcasm, and three parts relief filled Lu Tianling’s tone. The remaining part was a heavy weight of bitterness.

“Lu Tianling, this king has arrived. You and your grandson will come with me.” Marquis Origin—the Origin King intoned emotionlessly. “The others and this Dark City will be burial goods for my Origin Sect.”

Origin King Yan Guichi ever-so-slightly lifted his hand to collect a ray of purple light within his palm.

“Burial goods for your sect?” Lu Yun burst out laughing. “Marquis Origin, the Origin King, Yan Guichi, once a slave of the Lu Clan!” He rapidly switched through four terms of address as he jeered, “Darklake Empire has been beset by calamity due to the slave that you are. Since you’ve brought so many immortals with you, all of you can be the burial goods for the people of my nation!”

“What?!” Yan Guichi stuttered to hear Lu Yun speak so brazenly. A great disturbance rippled through the immortals behind him. The noble Origin King, Great Xia’s greatest titled king… was once a Lu slave? What was going on here?

“Showing disrespect to this king…” Yan Guichi was interrupted by a massive boom before he could finish.

KABOOM!

A massive warship running three thousand meters from bow to stern broke through the air. It was colored black throughout and was crafted with a simple and ancient design. It appeared out of nowhere beneath Lu Yun’s feet and hovered in the air. A cannon mouth that spanned three hundred meters across took aim squarely at the knot of black clouds.

A tremendous suction force appeared the moment the warship did, drawing Lu Yun and the others into the vessel. The Cauldron of Heaven and Earth flew out with a wave of the young man’s hand and settled down in the center of the vessel.

“A cross ark…” Changes finally flickered through Yan Guichi’s face.

“Slave Yan Guichi, this young master will show you today just who is going to be burial goods for whom!”

BOOOOOM!

A pillar of black light that was three hundred meters wide erupted from the cannon and crashed into Yan Guichi’s cloud with a searing aura.

All was quiet between heaven and earth.
