Chapter 2121: Don’t Disappoint Yourselves

Qingfeng went on the alert when she saw someone suddenly appear and she demanded, “Who are you and what are you doing here?!”

Qing Yu’s cheek twitched and she lifted her head from Lu Yun’s embrace, composing herself. She raised her eyebrows with a smile when she saw the frosty girl. “Is this your girl in this world?”

“EH?! Uh, uh, n-no…” Lu Yun stammered wildly, but didn’t know how to explain himself.

Qing Yu burst out laughing at his awkward state and smiled at Qingfeng. “I am Lu Yun’s wife. I’ve come to find him.”

The girl, however, remained frowning. This was the heavenly palace and the yin tomb that Lu Yun spoke of. How had the newcomer found her way here?

“Miss Qingfeng, she is my wife.” Lu Yun collected his senses and smiled easily. “She’s crossed time and space to come in search of me.”

Waves of emotions reared in his heart and none of his usual aplomb could be found. There were only two people in existence who could affect his mental state at his current level of strength.

Qing Yu and Tushan Miao.

“Forget about this, let’s get out first.” He took Qing Yu’s hand and headed for the exit.

The young man smiled ruefully at his dao partner. “What I want to do most is to go home. But I can’t.”

“Mm.” Qing Yu pursed her lips and suddenly flung herself at Lu Yun, placing her lips on his. The two of them embraced ardently in the tomb and kissed each other with passion.

Qingfeng was dumbfounded, having no idea what’d happened to the two locked in hunger. Things had been fine a second ago, hadn’t they? Why were they kissing all of a sudden?

Although the world was filled with despair, there was still love and affection as the species needed to propagate. It was part of their instinctive nature, so Qingfeng could understand their actions.

She just didn’t understand why they were suddenly engaging in these actions.

The two exchanged their yearning for each other in a long series of kisses before parting with great reluctance. Lu Yun took a moment to recollect his thoughts—he knew how to proceed from here.

He took a deep breath as he looked at Qing Yu and said softly, “I know what to do. The two of us together is immortal dao. We need to let the flower of immortal dao blossom in this bleak world!”

The Dao Sovereign and the master of immortal dao. Lu Yun, Qing Yu, and Qingfeng arrived at the real palace over the clouds—a glittering, magnificent palace that was filled with a lifeless air. Hundreds of powerful beings stared at them; time froze in the next second and they were petrified on the spot.

A young man in white slowly walked out of the void.

“The Dao King!” Lu Yun nearly went off in another daze when he took a clear look at the newcomer. It was the real Dao King, he was here too!

“Long time no see.” The Dao King smiled at Lu Yun and Qing Yu beneath him. “This is also our last meeting.”

“What do you mean?” Lu Yun blinked, then watched as the Dao King spread out his arms and slowly faded away into motes of white light. “What are you doing?!” He knew what the Dao King intended to do and roared with protest. “What will Mo Yi do if you die?!”

“She doesn’t need me,” the Dao King chuckled. “She has never needed me. My final resting place has always been here. With my flesh and blood as sacrifice and soul as catalyst, I will summon the spirits of heaven and earth.”

Boooom.

The Dao King fully dissolved and faded away in the void. The power of heaven and earth streamed to them from all sides and barrelled into Lu Yun and Qing Yu’s body.

“You two are the hope of all living beings, so… don’t disappoint yourselves.”
