Chapter 57: Marriage with Lord Huai

Others might be frightened by the situation, but seeing the reaction of Zhou Huaijin’s men, Gu Chaoyan was more assured about her assumption.

“If he adores you out of a true heart. Why would he get you exposed to the public so that you become enemies with everyone else?” If he were truly adored, he would have the most likeliness to inherit the throne. Yet other lords would not be convinced. When they were not, they would definitely team up to kill Lord Huai. It was an easy thing to figure out – the worst always came later.

Having said the words, Gu Chaoyan threw a sneaky look at Lord Huai, who had a cold expression on his face, but he did not seem to have the intention of throwing a temper. So she continued boldly, “I can help you!”

Finishing the statements, Gu Chaoyan smiled brightly with eyes upon Lord Huai. “How does that sound, Lord Huai?”

A variety of expressions appeared on Lord Huai’s cold face. He had been frowning, feeling sympathy for this girl young who had to make a plan for her future life. She even said that she would not start a family with him and need a divorce paper.

Zhou Huaijin got angry. So she would run away after she finished using him? That was not what he would allow to happen!

He replied with a frozen face. “It sounds horrible.”

Gu Chaoyan’s confidence suddenly collapsed. Yeah, he, a noble man, could not be easy to cooperate with. So she had to think of something else.

Zhou Huaijin was furious, but seeing her confused look, he felt reluctant.

“Chaoyan, you don’t have to think and plan so much.” He touched her head and said, “I can make the deal with you, I will make the proposal at your mansion in a few days’ time.”

Gu Chaoyan gasped. She just could not believe what had just happened, but she was feeling a bit cheerful too.

For one second, she had no idea what to say.

A long while later, Gu Chaoyan came back to herself and said, “A few more days would not be proper. I still have other things to do. When I am done, I will tell you when to do the proposal.”

Zhou Huaijin nodded and smiled.

Gu Chaoyan again started to think that Lord Huai was a maniac.

Anyway, she was a doctor. She could check up on him later. If he was not seriously damaged in the head, she might be able to cure him.
