Gu Chaoyan shook her head briefly. “It is fine. They must be capable people since they are the staff selected by you. Give them one more chance. Next time, you can do whatever you want and I will say no more.”

Gu Chaoyan was speaking very clearly. She was not a generous person. She knew that if she forgave Manager Zhao this time, they were going to work with full devotion for her. If they still did not work diligently, she was not going to show any kindness.

Manager Zhao wiped the sweat drops from his forehead with his sleeves.

This new master looked quite lovely, yet she did not seem to be an easygoing person. She was almost the same as Lord Huai. No wonder they had such a great relationship. Manager Zhao thought inwardly that he was going to work very hard for her now that his trust was gained.

There were several chefs in the kitchen and all the material and tools were complete.

Gu Chaoyan thought that when she managed to teach them how to do hot-pots, they could open the restaurant directly.

It was not difficult to make the hot-pot dishes. The basic soup should be prepared whilst the remaining step would be putting the vegetables inside the boiled soup.

Gu Chaoyan asked the chefs of the kitchen to wash all the dishes whilst she herself went to prepare for the soup. Gu Chaoyan got many chills ready for the frying, since the soup was supposed to be very spicy.

After the frying was done, the smell of chills arose. Then the broth was added.

When the whole process was done, Gu Chaoyan clapped her hands with satisfaction. “Done.”

The chefs were about to gather around to check it out when Zhou Huaijin brushed away the chefs, craned his neck to see the pot of food that Gu Chaoyan had made. His face twitched. “How do we eat it?”

Zhou Huaijin just could not understand how to deal with it? Were they supposed to drink the soup?

Gu Chaoyan smiled mysteriously.

She fetched the vegetables she had washed and tossed them into the pot.

Zhou Huaijin gasped. What was going on? What kind of food was that? He had never seen this kind of dish before, not even from the imperial kitchen.

Everyone was still gasping when Gu Chaoyan already got a bowl, scooped out the things inside and passed it to Zhou Huaijin. “Try it.”

Zhou Huaijin opened his mouth without hesitation.

Gu Chaoyan then again asked the chefs to get a bowl for themselves too.

“It is so tasty!” Zhou Huaijin said with surprise. He did not know how to describe it, but the dish did taste very different, and very delicious too. “It is going to be so great in winter.”

Gu Chaoyan gave him a thumbs up. Zhou Huaijin was a really smart man to understand the essence of hot-pot.

Those chefs also sparkled with excitement. “I am sure that when this dish is served, our restaurant is going to become really popular.” They could even predict how popular this restaurant was going to be.

Gu Chaoyan nodded. Honestly, she had been quite anxious about how hot-pots could work here for these ancient people, but it worked pretty well.

Zhou Huaijin asked Gu Chaoyan to write down the receipt and asked the chefs to study it.

“Yan, leave the rest to them. I am asking you for a favor today.” Zhou Huaijin said.

Gu Chaoyan was surprised. Zhou Huaijin was an omnipotent person here, but now he was asking her for help!
