Chapter 380: You Can Never Return to the Army

Tian Qi hung his head while tears glistened in the corners of his eyes. This unshakable man could not stop his tears from streaming down his face. “I’ve disappointed Big Brother Shao! I’ve also disappointed myself…”

As he said this, he snuck a glance at Shao Yibai standing beside him. The man’s face was ghastly.

“You can never return to the army!”

Shao Yibai rudely interrupted him. “The lightest punishment would be to strip you of your military rank so that you’ll never be recruited again!”

Su Qingcheng saw the light in Tian Qi’s eyes vanish instantly.

When they left the detention center, Shao Yibai made a phone call to Yuan Xuan. After they exchanged pleasantries, he told Yuan Xuan about Tian Qi’s situation.

“I can’t make a scene here because of my military rank. Can you contact some of uncle’s old subordinates to get that blockhead out?”

Coincidentally, Yuan Xuan was currently lacking a staff member like this. He wanted someone who was honest, quiet, highly skilled in combat and had a clean background.

“This Tian Qi seems like someone who was perfectly made for me. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure that he gets out. When that time comes, he’ll be working for me!” Yuan Xuan said with a smile.

Shao Yibai heaved a sigh. He lamented, “That’s my beloved disciple! I raised that boy ever since he was young and you stole him away. I’m not happy about this!”

Yuan Xuan knew that Shao Yibai usually had his own methods of getting along with people. Although he seemed extremely ruthless and strict, he cared about his relationships with other people. He was stern with his subordinates, but he was also empathetic toward them.

Yuan Xuan consoled Shao Yibai by saying, “His talents won’t be wasted as one of my subordinates. I’ll need more staff members once I’ve returned to Luo Hai. You already know that there are a lot of people who want to cause my downfall here.”

Su Qingcheng’s heart was consoled. She simply needed to wait for the results of their premarital health checkup before she could return to her old home and resolve the problems regarding the proof of her identity.

Normally, the premarital health checkup could be done last, but Shao Yibai needed to attend the Yuan Family’s wedding in Luo Hai soon, so Jiao Shuzhen had arranged for the couple to do the premarital examination together beforehand.

Su Qingcheng could not help but admit that this was a troublesome process. She was an exceptionally fit person, but she had to say she was exhausted after having to go to the hospital for two days in a row.

There were semen tests, genetic diagnosis, chromosomal analysis, electrocardiograms, ultrasounds, endocrine examinations, biopsies, and IQ tests…

When Shao Yibai noticed that the young woman was squirming about impatiently, he consoled her in a small voice, “These tests are necessary to ensure that we can have a healthy baby in the future.”

Su Qingcheng did not grasp what he meant. She widened her eyes and looked at Shao Yibai. “Does that mean that I can’t marry you if my body isn’t up to standard?”

Shao Yibai did not know how to respond to her silliness but to laugh. “No matter what happens, you’re still mine. These tests are merely things that people in the military compound and the sons of the aristocratic families have to go through.”

Su Qingcheng finally relaxed.

The results would only come out half a month later. Fortunately, Su Qingcheng would be busy with her internship and ceased to worry about the matter no more.

Shao Yibai began his preparations to leave for Luo Hai. He would only return one month later after he left. Deep down, he was reluctant to leave his future wife.

The woman’s voice was delicate and sweet. The corners of her lips were stretched into a wide smile as though she had truly found a rare treasure.

Shao Yibai snatched the wine glass from her hand when he heard that. He wanted her to drink some alcohol to lighten the mood, but it seemed like this girl had drunk just a little too much.

“Why won’t you let me drink…” Su Qingcheng sounded rather annoyed. She reached her little hand out to wrench the wine glass back, but her limbs were not cooperating, so she leaned headfirst into him.

Shao Yibai carried her in his arms and held her against his chest. The handsome man’s breathing started becoming unsteady. His lips were tinged with the scent of alcohol, but he pressed them against her ears. “You’ve had too much to drink. I won’t be able to do what I’ve planned in a while!”

Su Qingcheng narrowed her eyes. She had trouble understanding him. “What do you mean?”

“I want you!” said Shao Yibai boldly. This man was truly shameless at this moment. Since she was already drunk, he did not care about anything anymore.

Su Qingcheng spent a long time thinking, but she could not fully comprehend the meaning behind his words. She simply cocked her head to one side and rubbed it against his shoulder. This forced the man to suppress the heat that was burning throughout his entire body…

“Xiaodai, do you know that this is very dangerous?”

Shao Yibai’s voice was unimaginably hoarse. He tightened his grip around the woman’s limp body in his arms.

He had failed to have his way with her ever since their very first time together.
