Wen Ya knitted her brow due to the pain, and she grabbed Yuan Zhe’s arm to protest. “Are you crazy? You’re hurting me. Let go!”

Yuan Zhe did not release his grip but shifted his hand to grab her sharp chin and clamped down on it hard, his tone full of scorn.

“Wasn’t Mrs Yuan tailing me just now? Didn’t you see where I went? You know the answer, and yet you ask!”

Wen Ya trembled, but she could not lose her cool.

She fixed her eyes on Yuan Zhe and coldly sneered. “I’ll have to ask then, where did Mr Yuan go off to just now? Are you actually afraid of being found out?”

Yuan Zhe appeared to have seen through this woman’s tricks. He held her slender swan-like neck with traces of a smile on his face. Then, he laughed wickedly in an insolent manner.

“Wen Ya, your coaxing tricks are effective on Old Mistress, but don’t you try them on me! You should have known what kind of man I am since the day your father sent you to my bed. Rather than concerning yourself with me, it’ll be better for you to first understand your place!”

Wen Ya quivered from rage, and she closed her eyes, unwilling to take another look at this man!

The insuppressible disgust, hatred, grief, and despair in her heart bubbled up from the depths of her heart.
