Chapter 58 - Caught In The Act

Just a nap, and nothing beyond that.

Da Sha was thrilled that Lu Beixiao was still alive, so he excitedly threw himself on him. Tortured by the extra 80 kilograms on his body, Lu Beixiao could not help but yell at Da Sha.

Gunshots were fired on top of the building, which concerned Lu Beixiao. He used Da Sha's headphones and asked, "Brothers, I'm sure that you guys can handle it without me, right?"

The aftermath of the explosion still echoed in his ears, which was irritating, to say the least.

"Lu, aren't you dead? Da Sha cried so loudly that we all thought you're no longer alive!" Fang Zhuo answered first.

"It's a wrap, let's go!" Ye Cheng announced their victory as Chen Shenglong, the leader of Dragon Tiger Clan, had just been shot dead.

Lu Beixiao gave Da Sha a hard kick to push him away. He was covered entirely in dust, but he did not quite care about it, for he desperately needed a rest. He had not had any sleep since yesterday morning.

"Qiao Qiao, go home without me," Qiao Tian abruptly said. He was packing his belongings and getting ready to be discharged. Ning Jing was there, too.

"Are you both really going to the south to work on your fashion business?" Ye Qiao asked in all seriousness.

"Qiao Qiao, what else can we do other than that? My parents still refused to accept us," Ning Jing frowned as she said. She seemed terribly distraught by everything that happened. Even Ye Qiao could not help but sympathize with her vulnerability. One thing for sure was that Ning Jing was not as determined about their plans of going to the south as before. With Ye Qiao as their potential patron, the plan of going to the south seemed like an unnecessary hassle.

Ye Qiao knew exactly what was on her mind. Despite her intentions, Ning Jing was truly attractive, but so was Qiao Tian.

"It'll be tough for you both. I'm sorry that I can't be of any help. I'm just a nobody who lives under the roof of the Ye family," Ye Qiao added the details on purpose so that Ning Jing would no longer assume her to be their savior.

In fact, there was nothing much that she could do to help Qiao Tian. His business endeavors relied solely on him and him alone. All she could do was to point out the right direction for him to start his career.

"How's that possible?" Ning Jing pondered with bitter disappointment.

"Qiao Qiao, I've never thought about getting your help! Just go on with your life as usual with the Ye family. I can handle it myself!"

Ye Qiao's eyes kindled with confidence. After all, he was just a boy in love who thought that love could conquer all.

What he did not realize was Ning Jing's white and pale expression, but that did not escape Ye Qiao's eyes.

All Du Jun's time over the past few days had been focused on ingratiating himself with his future niece-in-law. He fully provided three meals a day, and all requests from Ye Qiao were never denied.

"Miss Ye, he's gone upstairs," Du Jun's assistant said with humble reverence. Currently, both Ye Qiao and Du Jun were in the cafe of a hotel. It was Qiao Tian who the assistant was referring to before.

Du Jun's men had been tailing Ning Jing for a few days. She was now in the honeymoon suite of the hotel having a lovers' rendezvous with her fiance, Mr. Tang.

"My brother's going to have his heart shattered!" Ye Qiao heaved a helpless sigh. Surely he would not believe her plain words, so she needed to wait for Ning Jing to show her true colors and let him see it for himself.

On the 20th floor, Qiao Tian walked straight to the suite where Ning Jing was in with a huge bouquet of red roses in his hand. It was supposed to be a celebration for finally getting rid of the Dragon Tiger Clan. However, he was honestly a little surprised by how luxurious the room was. Usually, she would not spend so much on such things.

Excitedly, he pressed on the doorbell and waited. It did not take long for the door to open, but to his dismay, a man in a suit appeared before his eyes, so he thought he had the wrong door.

"Youshi, what are you doing there? I've lighted the candles!" The voice of a girl came urging the man to go back. Her voice had also prompted Qiao Tian to push the man out of his way, and rush into the room.

A romantic candlelit dinner was set in the middle of a grand living room. Needless to say, Ning Jing was utterly shocked when she saw who the intruder was. "Qiao Tian! You...."
