Chapter 147 - Laxative

The nannies that were usually hired by Old Master Ye were honest middle-aged women who came from the villages or the working class. Aunt Hao was usually honest, and she did her job properly. She never did anything out of line. Yet, she was now nervous since she was caught red-handed putting some drugs into the food. She was tongue-tied for a moment.

"Grandpa! Aunt Hau is putting some kind of drug in my porridge... I don't know what that is!" Ye Qiao spoke loudly while she appeared angry and scared.

The minute Old Master Ye heard that, he was shocked. He strode toward Aunt Hao.

"Xiao Hao! What are you doing?" Old Master Ye said sternly, and he soon saw the square-shaped packet clenched in the nanny's hand.

It was only then that Aunt Hao recovered from her shock. She wanted to immediately throw the packet into the fire, but Old Master Ye was so strong even though he was old. He moved swiftly, and he grabbed her wrist immediately, stopping her from destroying the evidence.

"What is this?" Old Master Ye asked sternly again. He snatched away the packet. It was clearly the kind of packet which was used by small clinics to keep their medicine. Fortunately, there was still some powder on the paper.

"Master, I… This… This is the health supplement which I add into the food for Qiao Qiao. It's some kind of health supplement to help her to refresh her mind!" Aunt Hao told a lie, and she stammered. She was so guilty that she could not even believe what she said.

With only a glance from Old Master Ye, the nanny was so frightened that her legs became wobbly. "Why aren't you telling me the truth!? Xiao Dong!" He sneered, and he sounded quite fierce with his deep voice.

Xiao Dong quickly ran toward them.

"Xiao Dong, take this packet to the laboratory and ask them to test it. Ask them to investigate what kind of medicine this is! Just tell them that it's my command!" The old man gave a command in a deep voice.

Xiao Dong bowed and answered in a deep voice, "Alright!"

"Don't! Please don't… Old master, I, I…" Aunt Hao appeared helpless, and she seemed to be engulfed in pain.

"Aunt Hao! Does my family treat you unkindly? Why did you want to harm me? If that's a health supplement, why do you have such a facial expression on your face right now? Is there something that you are not telling us?" At that moment, Ye Qiao went forward and asked her sternly.

Grandpa knew immediately that it was not some kind of health supplement. That was why he asked Xiao Dong to send it to the laboratory. In fact, he was worried about her body condition.

Now, Ye Qiao needed to force Aunt Hao to expose the truth. She could not let her take the blame for Qin Lan.

Aunt Hao shook her head repeatedly, and her eyes became teary. "Miss Qiao Qiao, that's indeed a health supplement…"

Ye Qiao sneered. "You don't want to admit it, do you? Brother Xiao Dong had taken it to the laboratory for a test. The result will be out soon. I just want to see how you're going to explain it then. Aunt Hao, if you have any difficulties, please tell us about it. I think that grandpa could help you. Otherwise, you'll be reprimanded severely since you harmed the family of your master." Ye Qiao continued to say something harshly in order to frighten Aunt Hao.

Old Master Ye realized now that something was wrong. Why would a nanny harm a young lady without any reason? It would only happen if someone else instructed her to do so.

The old man became quite desperate.

Aunt Hao certainly did not know about the consequences. If it was a light punishment, she would lose her job. But if it was serious, she would be sentenced. It never occurred to her that she would be caught red-handed by Ye Qiao.

"Miss Qiao Qiao, that's laxative. It's me.... I don't like you. I don't want you to pass your examination with flying colors…" Aunt Hao lowered her head and chose to take the blame for someone else.

She did not dare to expose Qin Lan since she would suffer terribly if she offended the lady.

Qin Lan had told her that if she did as she was asked, her son's job in J town's unit would be arranged nicely by Qin Lan. Furthermore, Qin Lan even told her that the dose of the drug was small. If Ye Qiao took that, she would only show the symptoms of chronic gastroenteritis. No one would notice that, and what Aunt Hao did would not be exposed.

For her son's future, Aunt Hao agreed to do it. Otherwise, her son's job and even her own job would be ruined by Qin Lan.

"You don't like me? What kind of grudge do you bear toward me? I believe that someone else ordered you to do so, right? You'd better admit to it now.. Don't act like a fool and take the blame for someone else!" Ye Qiao spoke to her again.
