Chapter 106 - Come Over And Greet Your Sister-In-Law

Beichi got even more unhappy as Beixiao now looked down on him. He did not even want to have dinner anymore!

Just then, Grandpa Lu came over with a bottle of Maotai. "Hurry up and take a seat!" As the head of the family, he spoke magnanimously.

"Qiao Qiao, come over and have a seat. You can get the books after dinner!" Beixiao pulled a chair for Ye Qiao.

"Chi, go over next door and tell Mr. Ye that Qiao Qiao is going to have dinner at our place!"

Damn it! Beichi, who was just going to have a seat, suffered 10,000 points of damage in his heart! Nonetheless, he could only obey the orders from his brother, so he quickly ran out.

As they were chatting, Xiao Zhang brought in the freshly-cooked chicken soup.

"Stupid old lady!" Beixiao's grandfather muttered.

Xiao Zhang filled Beixiao's bowl with the soup and was ready to pass it to him, but he quickly pushed it to Ye Qiao instead. "Qiao Qiao, this is for you. Drink more…" The last two words were so soft that only Ye Qiao could hear them.

Ye Qiao was a changed person. She was growing and would need more nutrients. It was only then that Ye Qiao realized that the chicken soup was specially cooked for her... it was black chicken soup!

"Thank you, Xiao!" She could not help but blush! Apparently, he told his grandma that he wanted to drink chicken soup, but it was actually for her!

She took a mouthful of the chicken soup, and the fragrance of the soup warmed her heart.

"Thank you, Xiao!" Ye Qiao smiled sweetly as she put the savory gizzard into her mouth.

Beichi watched intensely as the little girl ate it. That was his favorite! That was the only part that he liked of the whole chicken, and now it had been snatched away by Xiao for Ye Qiao, who was the person that he hated the most! He was about to burst in frustration!

Meanwhile, Ye Qiao drank two full bowls of chicken soup, while Beixiao, who was apparently clamoring for chicken soup earlier, only drank half a bowl.

After dinner, both of them used the excuse of going to "look for revision materials" to leave the dinner table and go upstairs.

Beichi, who was clueless, followed them up. Just as he was just about to follow them into Xiao's room, Xiao blocked the door and glared at him. "Go over there and play!"

And after that, he slammed the door on Beichi. "Bang!"

Ye Qiao could not stand him being so gentle and considerate; she was so moved that she dropped herself into his arms and held him tightly with her arms. "No, I already drank two bowls of chicken soup! Xiao, you are the best!"

He did not say anything, as if being nice to her was his responsibility.

"Xiao, before you go abroad, can you come back again?" She started getting unsettled as she remembered that he was going abroad for a year.

"No, I can't. I am leaving at the end of the month. Anyway, let me get you a few revision books that would be useful! I was ranked first in Science in J Town back in the day!" He said as he gently pushed her away. Then, he walked to the bookcase and took a pile of old materials.

Even though he was a few grades older than her, they were still using the same version of the textbook, so the materials would really be of great use for her.

"I am studying liberal arts! I just need the Mathematics ones... only Maths is giving me a headache. I can actually memorize the other subjects!" Then, she went to the cabinet and started looking for the books she needed. Beixiao went through all his notes carefully and found his Math notes along with some revision materials.

The Math notes were all in his handwriting, which looked vigorous and powerful.

"Let's go! I will send you back! If it's too late, your grandfather will start to be suspicious! I used to steal his peaches, so if he knows that I stole his granddaughter too, he will destroy me!" After compiling the notes, he pulled her up and walked towards the door.

She was led out of the room by him, and Beichi, who had just finished playing Contra, coincidentally came out from the opposite room. When he saw the two of them holding hands, the soda bottle in his hand fell onto the floor!

Damn it! What did he just see? It must be an illusion! Perhaps, he had been playing too many games!

Ye Qiao saw Beichi stomping his feet. He looked at them the same way a kid would look at his father if he had found his kid a stepmother!

She could not help but laugh while looking at this boy in his basketball jersey with pride.
