Chapter 686 Divine Intervention

Ren faced the devils with a calm demeanor, conserving his mana for the challenges ahead. 

Instead of launching lethal spells, he focused on deflecting their attacks, using simple yet effective incantations to keep them at bay.

His strategy didn't involve annihilating the devils; he knew that for every one he defeated, more would swiftly replace them, so there was no use in killing them.

Ren understood the futility of a battle of attrition in this demonic horde. So, he opted for a tactical approach, parrying their strikes and employing minimal magical force, reserving his energy for the crucial moments to come.

Meanwhile, Princess Lorelai continued her fierce duel with Asmodeus. With every clash of their weapons, sparks flew, illuminating the chamber with brief bursts of celestial light. 

Sweat trickled down her brow as she exerted herself, her Valkyrie form radiating determination.

As the battle raged on, Princess Lorelai's strikes became quicker, more precise. "Your reign of terror ends here, Asmodeus! Prepare to face justice!" 

She lunged forward, her sword slashing through the air, narrowly missing the archdevil's defenses.

But despite her efforts, Princess Lorelai's keen ears caught the ominous tone in Salister's laughter. His sinister chuckle echoed through the chambers, sending chills down their spines. 

"It's too late, Princess! My ritual is complete!" he declared triumphantly, his voice reverberating with malevolent satisfaction.

Princess Lorelai's eyes widened. "We need to stop him before it's too late! Everyone, focus your attacks on Salister. We can't let his dark plans come to fruition!" she shouted, her voice carrying a note of urgency.

Ren, Evie, and Elena didn't pay her any mind. 

Why would they stop him when it was exactly what they were hoping for? 

In the midst of the chaotic battleground, Princess Lorelai's eyes narrowed at Salister. Her focus shifted between Salister, who was inches away from completing his nefarious ritual, and Asmodeus, the formidable archdevil who stood in her path like an insurmountable fortress.

Realization struck her like a lightning bolt –– she couldn't reach Salister as long as Asmodeus blocked her way. 

In her desperation, she tapped into the deepest reservoirs of her divine power, summoning the essence of the heavens to aid her cause. 

The very air around her crackled with divine sparks as she chanted the incantation for her most potent spell [Celestial Judgment].

[Celestial Judgment] was a spell that harnessed the wrath of the divine, channeling the fury of the gods into a concentrated beam of radiant energy. 

When invoked, the skies seemed to darken as if the heavens themselves were preparing to unleash their righteous fury upon the unworthy. 

The spell manifested as a blinding, golden ray, its brilliance unmatched by any mortal or infernal force.

With a sweep of her outstretched hand, Princess Lorelai unleashed the spell, directing the celestial beam toward Asmodeus. 

The air trembled with the power of the heavens as the radiant energy streaked through the battlefield, leaving a trail of divine luminescence in its wake.

However, time was not on her side. 

As the spell left her fingertips, Salister, sensing the imminent threat, quickened his ritual. The very ground seemed to shake in response to his dark incantations, and a swirling vortex began to form, tearing the fabric of reality itself.

Just as Princess Lorelai's spell was about to strike true, Salister's ritual reached its crescendo. The portal to the Netherworld burst open with a deafening roar, a gateway to realms unknown. 

The spell intended for Asmodeus struck true, and the replica of the Ruler dissipated harmlessly into the ether.

Princess Lorelai's eyes widened in despair as she realized her efforts had been in vain. The forces of darkness had triumphed, and the Netherworld beckoned, its ominous depths ready to swallow everything in its path.

In the dim, ominous chamber, Salister's laughter echoed like a chilling symphony, a sinister melody that sent shivers down the spines of all present. 

His eyes glinted with malevolence as he sneered at Princess Lorelai and the others, his lips curling into a disdainful grin.

"Well, well, Princess Lorelai and her foolish companions. Though you have defeated my replica, it seems our little dance has reached its climax," Salister taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "But fear not, for this is not goodbye. I bid you adieu, my dear enemies."

With those mocking words, Salister leaped gracefully towards the swirling portal, his dark silhouette disappearing into its depths. 

The Princess watched in horror, knowing that she had to follow him, for whatever sinister plans awaited on the other side of that portal, she must put a stop to it.

"Follow Salister through the portal quickly!" Ren instructed. "It won't remain open for long!"

Elena nodded, her hands already crackling with magical energy. "Hold on tight, everyone. We're going after him."

But as Ren and the others prepared to leap into the unknown, Princess Lorelai hesitated, her eyes fixed on the swirling vortex. Doubt clouded her gaze, uncertainty etched on her features.

"I . . . should tell my father about this," she confessed, her voice wavering. "This is already out of my control."

Before anyone could respond, a blinding burst of light engulfed the chamber. A divine radiance descended, illuminating the darkness with its brilliance. 

Out of the light emerged a majestic figure, a goddess adorned with wings that glistened like the purest gold and a divine halo that encircled her head in a radiant crown.

"I am Seraphina, the Goddess of Light," the ethereal being spoke, her voice melodic and soothing like a celestial hymn. "Fear not, brave souls, for I have come to aid you in your quest. Salister's treachery will not go unpunished."

Evie and Elena were visibly shocked at the sight, while Ren almost forgot about this scene.

In the presence of the divine, the chamber seemed to glow with a celestial light, bathing everyone and the goddess in a luminous aura. 

Seraphina addressed the group with a voice that echoed like a hymn, filled with both compassion and authority.

"You must go after Salister," she urged her words carrying the weight of the heavens. "If he succeeds in his vile plans, he will unleash demons and devils upon the surface, plunging the world into chaos and darkness. His ambition knows no bounds, and his malevolence must be stopped."
