Chapter 1902 Gave Himself Away

Something suddenly exploded in Shangguan Wei's mind thinking about Huo Yao's master. He hastily looked at Sheng Ying.

Shangguan Wei had never seen this face in his life, but his expression seemed to resemble…

"You… You are…." Shangguan Wei looked at Sheng Ying intently but was unable to utter a word after a long time.

Sheng Ying's expression remained the same. His lips curved upwards slightly as he looked at Shangguan Wei mysteriously. He seemed to already guess what Shangguan Wei wanted to say.

However, he said nothing. He simply walked up slowly in front of the stone table behind Shangguan Wei.

Three people were also lying on the three other sides of the stone table. They were the elders and protectors of the clan.

Their eyes were tightly shut and their arms hung from the sides of their bodies while their faces were pale. They had clearly lost consciousness.

Sheng Ying did not look at them. He simply looked at the stone table.

The stone table was black in color and not entirely smooth. It had unusual and shallow engravings on its surface. Now, they were slowly getting filled up and changed into red lines. Slowly, the red lines were spreading across the table heading toward the center of the stone table. The atmosphere felt strange.

Sheng Ying stood quietly for some time until something finally changed about the look in his eyes.

When Shangguan Wei was not looking, his expression stopped looking calm. Also, a crazed obsession could be seen on his face.

20 years had passed. Now, everything was going according to plan. How could he not get what he wanted?

Sheng Ying laughed coldly inside.

At this moment, someone entered the secret chamber hurriedly and whispered a few words in his ear.

Sheng Ying moved his brows slightly and raised his head to look at the entrance.

Some soft noise could be heard coming from outside that sounded like something heavy falling. A second later, Huo Yao could be seen at the door.

Shangguan Wei was still overwhelmed with shock. The moment he caught sight of Huo Yao, he threw everything to the back of his mind and shouted anxiously, "Go. Leave immediately."

If his suspicions about Sheng Ying's identity were true, from Huo Yao's perspective, she would have trouble accepting it.

He was getting on his age and had very little time remaining. Sometimes, it was not right for a kid like her to deal with these matters.

Not knowing the truth was far better than knowing everything.

Sheng Ying ignored Shangguan Wei. He glanced at Min Yu standing behind Huo Yao before he finally looked at her. "You're finally here."

Huo Yao looked at Shangguan Wei leaning against the stone platform. Owing to blood loss, his vital stats were visibly dropping. The elders had passed out and clearly did not look good either.

Huo Yao clenched her fists slightly and looked up into Sheng Ying's eyes. She asked hoarsely, "Why?"

Huo Yao spoke a single word in a familiar tone. Sheng Ying suddenly sighed softly. He seemed sad or perhaps there was more to what he was feeling. "When did you find out?"

"When I entered the Forbidden Forest." Huo Yao could sense her throat constricting. "Who else but you would revert all the mechanisms to starting point out of habit? Right, Master?"

The moment she said "master", Min Yu was briefly stunned standing behind her.

Even though Huo Yao had never mentioned having a master, it was clear she was upset but suppressing her emotions.

"I didn't realize I gave myself away." Sheng Ying raised his hand. From the looks of it, some habits were not good.

Sheng Ying was not very surprised by her reaction. After all, his disciple was very intelligent. She was able to detect something amiss through such minor details. It was expected that she would see through his act.

Huo Yao inhaled deeply. She strode toward Shangguan Wei and the elders. She squatted down and took out her silver needles.

Seeing this, Sheng Ying's subordinate standing beside him immediately wanted to stop her, but Sheng Ying interrupted him.

"It's useless," said Sheng Ying mildly.
