Chapter 448 “A Thief Who Came to Steal Business”

As smooth as things were going for her on this night, it seems that Ling Yue’s action thus far within the exchange office hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“Where did this kid come from? He is so weak looking from the surface yet he could redeem over a hundred Illumination pills.”

The one asking the question here was a fatty of short build called Cheng Gang, and standing beside him was a tall scrawny looking individual called Wu Yue, they are both regulars here in this Underground City #9.

Normally being targeted wasn’t anything new, in fact its common place. However, these two are brothers with one of the Reaper Emissary here, meaning they got connection. As a result of this fact, many weaker celestial martialists would often look to bribe them for various benefits and such.

“Big Brother, that person is called Red Thirteen, he only arrived here a few days ago and has been staying at the Novice area. The guy’s tactics are dreadfully dirty and I also suffered under his schemes earlier.” When mentioning Ling Yue, the one known as Wu Yue with his scrawny looking build would immediately gnash his teeth in frustration because he had lost more than half a year worth of his savings.

“Oh why didn’t I think of it? This is a good chance to earn a fortune!” After getting the ins and outs from his younger brother, the short one instantly started to sparkle in his eyes at the impending wealth he’s about to earn.

Cheng Gang (short) had long been disgusted with competing in the public areas to earn a living. It’s tiresome with little earning to be had, therefore he’s extremely interested in seeking a new way out.

“Let’s go, we’re going to the Novice area!”

Meanwhile on Ling Yue’s end, she was currently seeking a new target after finishing her business in the exchange office. Due to her big name “Red Thirteen” already holding an ominous reputation among the contestants, it’s become increasingly hard to find new customers as of late.

Take the bunch that’s currently in front of her for example. The second these people noticed she was coming near the fighters would instantly slow down their movements until the attacks were at snail speed, all because they are afraid an opportunity might present itself again to allow the disguised girl to step in. Of course, there will always be chumps here due to the nature of there being newcomers.

But just when her eyes were finished locking onto a new suitable target, it was then a figure interjected itself between her and the ring.

“Hey Brother, do you want to buy my healing Dan pills? From the way I see it you are bound to lose at this rate due to your injury. Don’t worry, I only want half of your winnings,” it was Cheng Gang (shorty) who was speaking.

Stealing my business eh? Ling Yue murmurs to herself, not missing the fact that the foe was trying to steal her business through imitation.

“Scram…” The warrior was already heated to the brain by this point; therefore, it’s no wonder he would start cursing after hearing the word “lose” out of the blue. However that tone quickly changed after he fighter realized who he was talking to.

Within this Underground City #9, Cheng Gang and his brother Wu Yue were definitely bosses in their own right due to their connections with their eldest brother who was working here as a Reaper Emissary. That’s why so many would fear him, including some inside the intermediate area.

Swallowing his words back in, the fighter timidly rephrases his response, “I’ll buy, please pass me a pill Boss Cheng.”

As wrong as that attitude was, Cheng Gang nevertheless pulls out a pill to toss it over. This wasn’t anything like how Ling Yue does business but business was business, he’s not going to say no to it.

Sadly for the fighter and the interloper who wants a cut in this industry, the opposing contestant wasn’t just going to stand idly by while watching this happen during a life-and-death struggle. Before the customer could completely swallow the pill, another slash had come striking down and knocked the person down, causing him to choke incessantly like he’s about to suffocate.

This abrupt change literally dumbfounded the shorty, “Hey boy, don’t pretend to be dead. Hurry and pay me my half of the reward.”

Taking this all in from the side, Ling Yue could barely hold in her laughter at this point, What an idiot.

She’s long planned for this sort of outcome when starting this business. Though what she does seem to be easy on the surface, but the key elements in being successful weren’t easy to master at all.

Its true medicinal healing pills are capable of helping a martialist in recovering from their injuries, but that’s under the assumption they have the time to partake in one. From the time to receiving the product to placing it in their mouth, that’s already several seconds past, a timeframe more than adequate for masters of this calibre to die several folds.

“I will save your life. In return, I want everything that’s on you.” It was then Ling Yue finally decides to make her grand entrance.

And without surprise, the latter immediately nodded with haste over the proposal because no one would be foolish enough to choose money over their life.

Once confirmed the deal was set, the next thing the fighter knew was another palm strike smacking down at his abdomen, followed instantly by a gush of air spewing out from his stomach as well as the pill that was lodged in-between his throat.

But that’s not all though. Utilizing her spirit force, Ling Yue also crushed the beady little object that’s still floating there in the air into dust particles before casting it over the fighter’s wound to mend the injury.

Then in a blurring flash of her fingers, the money pouch that was hanging off of the fighter’s waist was instantly snatched into her clutches, “These are mine now.”

She had no intention of letting her prize slip away this time, especially when the competition was so near.

“Wait, half of that is mine, hand it over!”

Cheng Gang was obviously dumbfounded by the disguised girl’s technique. It’s too fast and too smooth, something he can never pull off with his ability.

Don’t kid around, that healing pill was bought by me using my own money!

“Don’t make me laugh, you don’t even know the medicine can only be applied externally yet you still want to get paid?”

Flushing red over this, the shorty knew he didn’t have a foot to stand on.

“You are asking for it!” Spurring his powers to come forth, he engulfs his entire hand into a burning ball of flame, “Searing Red Palm Strike!”

So this thug do have some ability. That attack is at least a seventh grade technique. A flicker of astonishment quickly flashes by her eyes as Ling Yue mustered up her powers for counter, “Limitless Finger: First Point Universe.”

As the two forces collided in midair, it quickly became clear who the superior one here was and that would naturally be Ling Yue herself. Cheng Gang may be a Dan realm master as well, however, he’s only at the preliminary stage of the small (dark) core level while his foe wielded powers capable of defeating a reincarnation master.

“Oh Brother, let’s talk this over. I won’t take any of the payments, it’s all yours!” Turning a one-eighty after knowing he’s in a bad spot, the shorty promptly began to plead for mercy. But as the old saying goes, a person’s true nature wouldn’t change no matter what sort of face they made.

Just when Ling Yue was retracting her powers, Cheng Hang had taken this opportunity to toss out a pouch full of poisoned infused sand at her!
