A strong gust blew over her ears. Ruan Qiuqiu instinctively used her spear to block the attack. Qing Ruyi failed to land a blow on Ruan Qiuqiu’s legs, but one of her willow branches scraped against Ruan Qiuqiu’s injured cheek, leaving a bloody mark as well as fiend energy.

Qing Ruyi curved her eyes. Although she was surprised that Ruan Qiuqiu was able to block an attack from her, she didn’t think she could resist against the fiend energy that she had hidden in the willow branches. She pulled the willow branches back and didn’t plan on attacking again.

However, she was mistaken. It was true that other humans couldn’t resist an attack from fiend energy, but Ruan Qiuqiu had special spiritual energy. Qing Ruyi’s fiend energy was inferior to Mr. Gray Wolf’s, and it didn’t take long for Ruan Qiuqiu to scatter it.

Many thoughts crossed her mind in a short duration. Ruan Qiuqiu pretended to be injured while tightening her grip on the spear. When the fiend got close enough, Ruan Qiuqiu immediately stabbed the spear behind her. She felt the spear stabbing into something.

Ruan Qiuqiu’s eyes brightened. She wanted to pull out the spear and run, but she was shocked when she saw the person behind her. It was a gentle-looking female humanoid that looked a bit older than her.

As for thinking that she succeeded in stabbing the fiend behind her, she had been wrong. The spear was just entangled by willow branches.

Ruan Qiuqiu bit her lip. Having no other choice, she let go of the spear, quickly rolled to the side, and took out a bone knife for her animal skin backpack. “Are you… a fiend?”

Qing Ruyi’s eyes were full of admiration. Still, she didn’t intend to talk to her. “Big Sister Qiuqiu?” Just as the willow branches were about to pierce Ruan Qiuqiu’s eyes, a crisp child’s voice suddenly sounded from afar. It was accompanied by the sound of messy footsteps in the snow. “Grandpa, Big Sister Qiuqiu came.”

It was Little Yu.

Qing Ruyi raised her eyes. Just as she was about to wave her willow branches, the wind brought the sound of a strange yet familiar gentle voice to her ears.
