Chapter 217: Carlos' Statement

After passing the test, Marcel provided Noah and Maggy with one of the houses he had for himself. Noah had specifically requested a house with a garden, as he had some monsters and wanted them to have space so they could be carefree.

This was not a difficult thing for Marcel to achieve, since almost all the houses in the family's inner circle were very large to demonstrate the importance they attached to the Blessed who joined them in that circle.

With a house set in the capitol, Noah and Maggy took advantage of all the accommodation that the family provided for a few days carefree.

Meanwhile, Carlos was in the city of Eyrin, and he was still in contact with the clients of the imps, playing the intermediary between Noah and them so that the contracts could be renewed.

This guaranteed Noah more than 1,000 Exp points just during those few days that he was in the Khan family even though he did nothing.

But in addition to Carlos taking care of Noah's business, he was also obviously progressing with the new Blessing he had received.

After enjoying the beach with Noah and Maggy, Carlos returned home extremely excited. The closest he had come to having a Blessing before were Noah's imps, but even though he felt more confident with those little monsters, he still didn't feel that they were truly his.

But now that he could control the fire with his own hands, making it follow his orders and managing to kill monsters with it, Carlos was extremely excited.

When he asked Noah who was the god who had Blessed him with such a versatile Blessing, since he had never heard of any god who let the Blessed Ones spread their Blessings to other people as Noah did, Noah told him that he could say for now, but in the future Carlos would surely know.

This made Carlos initially worried, since he thought that it might be an evil god, but when he remembered that Noah gave the blessing to Maggy as well, he soon dismissed that possibility. After all, knowing what Noah was like, he knew that Noah would never do anything to harm Maggy, let alone make her follow an evil god who could use her as food.

So, with a lighter conscience, Carlos returned home and the first thing he did when he returned was to see if his parents were at home, which was confirmed almost immediately after he entered.

The two were in the television room lying on the sofa while watching a movie that had been released many years ago. Even though they were a rich couple, they never lost the love they felt for each other, and even though a situation like this didn't match the standards of other people with similar finances to themselves, they never cared about it. At times, Carlos' father even stayed at home shirtless watching football while drinking beer, completely different from the parents of many friends of Carlos'.

"Mom, Dad, I have something important to tell you..." Carlos said in a serious tone as he sat in the armchair in front of the couch that they were lying on cuddled up with one another.

Seeing the serious tone that their son was using, the two became concerned and immediately paused the movie while they sat up on the couch to hear what their son had to say.

"Don't tell me you got a girl pregnant?!" Carlos' mother said in a lively and concerned manner.

Hearing this, Carlos' father immediately commented as well. "I hope she is a good girl. Don't even think about having an abortion or leaving the girl alone to raise the child herself; you must be a man and accept the consequences."

"That's right... My god, who would have thought that my little boy had already become a man!" his mother said as she wiped away the tears that had formed next to her eyes.

Hearing all this, Carlos was speechless. 'I don't even date… Where am I going to get a girl to have sex with? I'm only 20 years old, far from me being a father... ' he thought as he put his hand on his face.

"No, no, no, you got it wrong! I didn't get anybody pregnant. In fact, the news is good," Carlos said with a smile.

"Good news?" His father asked, confused.

"Yes, do you remember me telling you during the last party you gave that Noah had finally awakened a power from his Blessing?" Carlos asked.

"Hmm, yes, I think it's been a couple of months? What's up? Has he reached E Rank?! That's great news!" Carlos' father said in a lively way. His parents loved Noah and Maggy, so seeing their success was almost like seeing Carlos' own success.

"Hahaha, he became Rank E a long time ago. In fact he is almost in Rank C!" Carlos said. The news completely left both of his parents with their mouths open.

"What??... Rank C!?!? Don't play with our feelings like that Carlos!" Carlos' father said in a worried way now, which startled Carlos.

He was initially concerned that Noah had been summoned by a large family to be their slave, just as many others normally were, and when Carlos told him that the Khan family had invited Noah and he had accepted, then he had become even more worried still.

Fortunately, before his father did something stupid, Carlos said that Noah had been invited by the heir himself to take a place in the inner circle because of his talent, which made his dad finally relax and not be so worried.

"What great news my son! Is that why you called us?! This is really good news!" Carlos's mother also said in a happy way, glad to see her adoptive son's success, since he was practically a brother to their boy.

But that was not all that Carlos wanted to tell them. With a confident smile he said something that shocked them both, "I have another piece of news to tell… Recently I started praying to the god who Blessed Noah, and guess what?!" he said with a big smile on his face.

At that moment, Carlos' parents had a shocked expression with much anticipation waiting for what their son would reveal.

They knew that this had been a great regret for Carlos, not being able to become a Blessed One like many of the other young people, but seeing the happy expression on his face, the couple's hearts accelerated, waiting for their son's answer.
