Chapter 208: Rest

Finally, after a few days, Noah felt carefree and rested. Unfortunately, after his mother had died and left the debt to him, in addition to his always worrying about Maggy's health, Noah's mind had been full of worry at all times.

But after killing his uncle and ending the debt he owed, in addition to finally knowing that Maggy was almost fully recovered, Noah was able to sleep unconcerned.

Without worrying about his uncle wanting to steal everything he had, without worrying about his younger sister being rich with dying because of her illness, Noah no longer had any worries. The only thing he thought about at that moment was what the future would hold for him - how far he could go as Lucifer's descendant, how far he could progress among humanity, or rather, among all the races that existed in the infinite universe.

With a smile on his face, Noah was returning home with Carlos beside him in the passenger seat while Maggy had a big smile accompanied by a curious expression on her face as she looked out of her brother's car window at things on the street that she had not seen for so long.

She had been released from the hospital today, after so many years practically, just doing a few exercises with the rehab team so her muscles would not atrophy and lying in a hospital bed for the rest of the time, Maggy was finally seeing the world again, along with Noah and Carlos, who laughed while talking in the front seat of the car.

"Noah, is it true that you have more pets at home? Can I play with them? Will they like me? Will I be able to pet them? You said you have a unicorn? Is his poop rainbows?" Like an automatic machine gun, Maggy was firing numerous questions at Noah who was extremely excited.

Hearing her questions, Noah laughed, especially from the last question. If the unicorn heard this question from Maggy, he would certainly be furious, especially after he had climbed to the prestigious level of a Rank C monster after all his wounds had healed, as well as absorbing a lot of Hell's flames. But Noah was not going to disillusion his little sister.

"I'm sure they'll like you, both Lilith and Terrence and even the unicorn, but you have to be a little careful with him because he acts like a grumpy old man." Noah recommended this while Carlos listened to Noah's description.

Noah described the unicorn as a grumpy old man, but Carlos knew that his friend was worse than that when he was with strangers. Carlos heard some people comment on how cold Lucifer was when they played with him or against him on Valorwatch, as if he were some old and experienced killer, but he wouldn't say that in front of Maggy.

As usual, Noah's car attracted a lot of attention. Some young women even smiled at Noah to try to get some attention from that rich young man who drove that car, but those smiles didn't even reach Noah's eyes.

However, they did not escape Maggy's sharp and curious eyes, which made the little girl ask something that Noah froze upon hearing. "Noah, when are you going to get a girlfriend?"

Noah's eyes widened and he looked at Maggy in astonishment. He didn't expect that. He had never thought of other women while he was so busy with Maggy's condition and the debt he owed to his uncle.

Not knowing what to say, Noah just opened his mouth while the images of some pretty young women he had met during the past few months after the system enabled his Blessing popped into his mind and made him think seriously about the question.

Seeing his friend's lost gaze, Carlos laughed out loud as he responded to Maggy, "Your brother never dated anyone because of you Maggy. I think as a way of thanking him, now that you're okay you could help him get a girlfriend, how about it, hehe?"

Noah looked at Carlos in horror while Maggy put her little hand on her chin, thinking about Carlos's suggestion and really considering doing it in the future, since she could help her brother a lot with this.

Being very young and spending a lot of time in the hospital, Maggy didn't understand dating very well. The only things she knew were the things she had seen on the internet about happy people saying they were dating and couples going to cool places together.

As she had always seen these people being happy, Maggy also wanted her brother to be happy that way, so she thought that a girlfriend for him would be a good thing.

Noah didn't know what to say. He wanted to hit Carlos right there, but he couldn't because he was driving, so he just let it go and kept his mind focused on the road. As much as he was used to getting looks from women, Noah never had much time to think about it.

To dispel these thoughts, Noah changed the direction they were going and asked Maggy in an animated voice, "Baby sis, how about we go to the beach? We can buy swimwear on the way there, have lunch somewhere nearby, and come home at the end of the day."

Hearing this, Maggy's eyes were replaced with stars. She had always wanted to go to the beach, but she was never able to go because of the situation they had at home in the past, even though the beach was just two hours away.

"Come on, come on, come on! Let's make a sandcastle; let's play with a ball; let's swim; let's ride dolphins; let's play with sharks; let's find a treasure under the sea; let's go!..." And so the machine gun Maggy started throwing phrases over and over, leaving Noah and Carlos with a silly smile on their faces.

Carlos, who had taken the day off, was also excited to do something like this, so he had no objection.

With a sports car like Noah's and streets planned for high-speed travel, the road was very fast. If they didn't have to go a little further down the road to be able to buy swimwear, they could have arrived at the beach in less than an hour.

But getting close to the small isolated sales hut that the GPS had told them to go buy swimsuits for a cheaper price, they saw something strange: A large purple portal was shining brightly, as if it were about to explode.

This was a common observation for the Blessed who constantly invaded Fortresses. When a portal was open for a long time with no one defeating the Fortress, it would explode and the monsters would leave that place, just like what had happened at the championship site. And that was exactly what was happening with the portal in front of them.

Sitting in the driver's seat, Noah looked at Carlos and Maggy and felt that he would have to address this, as much as it might ruin the pleasant ride they would have a little. Noah felt that for the safety of both of them he would have to go into that portal and advance a little bit of one of the plans he had.

"Carlos, do you happen to want power?" Noah asked in a serious voice as he kept his eyes on the portal, preparing himself in case it exploded at any moment.

"What do you mean 'power'? More imps for me to control? Yes, I do." Carlos said, without refusing his friend's offer.

"No, the power of the imps is not truly yours. Do you want a power that'd be truly yours? That you use and control... as a Blessing?" Noah asked something that shocked both Carlos and Maggy inside the car.
