After listening to her explanation, the receptionist called the CEO's office, and the reply she got was—"CEO Qin is currently quite busy. Miss Cheng, please wait for him."

Qin Yinan's company had just started, so unlike ST Empire, which contained an entire building, there wasn't even a resting area attached to the ground floor lobby. Thus, Cheng Qingchong could only stand at the door and wait.

She hadn't had lunch, but afraid that she might miss Qin Yinan, she didn't dare leave. When she left home that morning, she wore rather high heels. Her calves were quite sore after standing for a while, so she leaned against the wall to ease the pain.

Cheng Qingchong waited for four and a half hours before the receptionist called her again. When Chen Yang came to get Cheng Qingchong, they didn't share a word as Cheng Qingchong was led to the CEO's office.

When Qin Yinan started the company, he had come to her for some of her thoughts in terms of interior design. She had googled lots information for him and mailed him several types of design style. He had modified some of her designs and sent them to the manufacturing company.

At the time, he had even promised that when the company started to gain profit, he would bring her to visit the company they designed together. When she heard him say that, she had been rather happy.

However, her happiness didn't last long. They soon got divorced, and when his company had its opening, she had lost the right to come pay it a visit. His company really did follow many of their initial design ideals, and the real effect looked much better than on paper. However, she didn't have the luxury or ease of mind the enjoy them. As they neared the door to the CEO's office, her heart filled with anxiety.

The secretary knocked thrice on Qin Yinan's door, and a voice that Cheng Qingchong couldn't have been more familiar with drifted out from within. "Come in."

Chen Yang pushed the door open for Cheng Qingchong and said, "Miss Cheng, please."

Cheng Qingchong forced a smile at him before taking deliberate steps into his office. Then the secretary closed the door carefully behind her. As the door clicked shut, Cheng Qingchong's heart also skipped a beat.

Qin Yinan's office was rather huge. His desk faced the door directly, and behind him was a whole row of bookshelves with various kind of documents crowding them. He sat at his desk, talking on the phone, his voice soft and gentle.

Cheng Qingchong didn't interrupt Qin Yinan and stood quietly waiting at the door. After five minutes, Qin Yinan hung up, raised his head to look at her before pointing at the sofa, and told her, "Sit."

Cheng Qingchong raised her eyes to look at him but stood where she was.

Qin Yinan noticed she hadn't moved, but he didn't push her. He pulled out a cigarette from a box on his desk, lit it, stuck it between his fingers, and took a puff from it before asking, "What important thing does Miss Cheng want to discuss with me?"

Even though Cheng Qingchong had practiced this speech many times in her house before she came, when she was living the moment itself, she still became rather flustered.

Qin Yinan finished half of his cigarette, and through the haze, he glanced at the silent woman and spoke once more. "Miss Cheng, I still have other business to attend to; I don't have all day to waste with you."
