Qin Yinan hesitated for two seconds before snuffing out the cigarette and starting his car to follow the Maserati. The Maserati eventually stopped at the entrance to a high-end restaurant. Qin Yinan didn’t get out from his car but parked it across the street from the restaurant. Three hours later, the Maserati that was also parked at the roadside moved to the entrance.

Due to the distance between them, Qin Yinan couldn’t see the situation inside clearly. Based on instinct and rogue outline, he believed Cheng Qingchong had gotten inside the Maserati, but unlike when she came, there was a man who got in after her.

Then, the Maserati started and left.

Qin Yinan stepped on the gas pedal to follow the Maserati. He maintained a sweet distance between them lest he was discovered. The Maserati returned to Lan Ting Garden.

Qin Yinan was denied access to the area, so he once again parked his car by the gate and could only watch as the car that carried Cheng Qingchong disappeared beyond the gate.

It was an unknown time later when he withdrew his gaze. Perhaps because he had been staring at the gate for too long without blinking, Qin Yinan felt pain in his eyes. He closed his eyes and slowly leaned against the chair, and his mind was filled with images of Cheng Qingchong inside the Maserati as it brushed past him.

Even though he had only managed to catch a glimpse of her upper body, and it was only for a few short seconds, he could clearly see she was wearing a pink knitted blouse from an expensive brand, a brand that he hadn’t seen her wear before. Her expression was mostly blank, and her lips were turned up into a slight smile.

She looked spirited and not pale like she had looked when she left him. Compared to then, she had filled up slightly, making her look healthier and better.

He believed that she must have been treated kindly for the past two months, or rather, the man that she had found must have treated her well.

For the past two months, it was false to say he didn’t consider what would happen should he manage to find her. In fact, he even went one step further to imagine their future together. When he saw the income report for his company, he had even gotten it into his mind that he would purchase a bungalow that she liked for her the day he found her.

The year they were married, she had shared her wish for them to get a big bungalow once his company got into the market. She wanted to personally decorate it.

But now?

He did find her, but there was already someone else by her side…

At the time, it was he who so cruelly demanded a divorce, so there was no reason to expect her to wait for him after all the horrible things that he had done to her.

And him? Wouldn’t it be especially shameless to ask her to come back to him after knowing she had lived better without him?

Qin Yinan pulled another cigarette out and lit it. He took deep puffs on it, and in his urgency, the smoke caught in his throat, causing him to choke. He collapsed onto the steering wheel, coughing heavily until his eyes turned red.

Qin Yinan stayed at the gate to Lan Ting Garden until dawn. The whole night, he didn’t see the Maserati leave the residential area.
