Chen Yang stood up when he saw Cheng Qingchong leave Qin Yinan's office. He was about to knock on his door to remind him of an upcoming meeting when he heard a loud crash from within. His footsteps stopped immediately from shock.

One minute later, when he made sure there was no other sound from inside the room, he sidled up to the door quietly and knocked lightly on it thrice. He waited for a long time, but there was no answer. Just as he was hesitating over whether to push the door open to take a look or just turn around, the door was suddenly pulled open.

Chen Yang was spooked and raised his head in a hurry to look at Qin Yinan. He blurted out, "CEO Qin, the meeting…"

Qin Yinan ran past him like he wasn't even there. The elevator reached the first floor, and as Qin Yinan walked out of it, several of his company workers were coming in.

"Good afternoon, CEO Qin," they greeted him nicely.

Qin Yinan didn't even acknowledge them with a nod. He ignored them fully and dashed toward the entrance. He looked left and right before rushing across the street ignoring the streams of busy traffic. He rushed to the side of a taxi and reached out to pull out Cheng Qingchong, who was in the middle of climbing into it.

Cheng Qingchong's eyes were incredibly red, and underneath her wet eyelashes was a register of apparent surprise.

Qin Yinan's lips pressed tightly, and his hand that grabbed her arms unconsciously tightened. Without giving her the chance to say anything, he lowered his head to her ear and uttered in an icy voice, "I hope you live up to your promise this time and this will happen just this one time."

His words were so succinct that Cheng Qingchong's eyes that stared at him were confused like she was asking him wordlessly what he was referring to.

Qin Yinan noticed the confusion in her eyes, but he didn't feel like explaining himself. He released his grip on her arm, turned around, and went back the path he came from. It was not until his shadow disappeared into his company that Cheng Qingchong realized what had happened.

The taxi that she had hailed had already left, so she quickly called for another and asked the driver to send her to Four Seasons.

The traffic was rather busy, and the car was stuck in a jam. Cheng Qingchong looked out the window at the many neon signs that were coming on one after another, and it was then the she realized that Qin Yinan's words referred to her pleas when she was holding onto his shirt.

This means that he has agreed to help me? But why did he suddenly change his mind?

Even though Qin Yinan had promised to help Cheng Qingchong, over the next two days, they were still like strangers and had zero interaction.

Before Mrs. Cheng got onto the plane, she messaged Cheng Qingchong, telling her that she would arrive at Beijing Airport in another 17 hours.

Cheng Qingchong glanced at her phone and continued to follow up on a customer checking out. When she finished her job, it was already 11 pm. She hesitated for a moment before giving Qin Yinan a call on his phone.

Qin Yinan hadn't fallen asleep yet, so the call was picked up quickly. Through the phone, Cheng Qingchong could pick up the sound of typing. He's still working so late at night?

Before the thought settled in her mind, Qin Yinan's annoyed tone said, "Yes?"
