“Aren’t you going to congratulate me then? Any rewards would be appreciated.” She hummed and tapped her chin.

The old man seemed to agree with her and opened the top drawer on his desk. He took a small black velvet box and placed it on the table.

“Take this then. You’ve proven yourself worthy of becoming a Sun princess.” He pushed the box towards her.

Lu Xinyi’s smile disappeared and moved closer to take the box. Upon opening it, her eyes were blessed by the ornament exclusive for the Sun family. This was the same brooch that her mother had given her before she passed away. The same brooch that Sun Feiyan had forcefully taken from her during her stay at this mansion.

“Are you sure you’re giving this to me? Didn’t you already bestow it to Feiyan before?” she asked. She held the box tighter as if afraid that the old man would snatch it back from her hands.

Sun Liuxian smiled and clasped his hands together.
