Her words were barely audible but it was enough for Shen Yi to hear it clearly. His eyes popped open in surprise. Did she really mean it? Because if she was telling the truth, Shen Yi was also falling for her too. He gently moved her and noticed she had fallen asleep.

How dare she fell asleep without waiting for his answer?

Shen Yi shook his head. Lu Xinyi had managed to tire herself. He wondered if he should wake her up and ask her if she was telling the truth about her confession but he decided against it. Slipping on his shoes, he picked up his sleeping wife and went back to the hotel.

They arrived on their suite in silence. Lu Xinyi stirred in his arms but didn’t wake up as Shen Yi took her to their bedroom and tucked her into the bed. Propping himself up on his pillows, he glanced at the clock nearby and noted that it was only eight in the evening. It was too early for him to go to sleep.

His attention went back to the woman who was sleeping peacefully beside him. Lu Xinyi lay on her side facing him, her long hair splayed out around her it. Reaching out, he took a long strand of her hair between his fingers and marveled how soft it was. She took good care of her hair, he mused. His thoughts were disturbed when Lu Xinyi shifted slightly on the bed and sighed as she rolled onto her back.

As his gaze roamed over his sleeping wife, Shen Yi concluded that he would have laughed if anyone had told him before that he will end up being married after that cruise vacation. He would laugh even harder if they say he will marry a woman from the Sun family.

Looking at Lu Xinyi intently, he was briefly stunned by her beauty. He found his gaze drawn on her plump and inviting lips. He already knew that it was soft and sweet as they look and admit he couldn’t get enough of it. Shaking his head, he left his wife on the bed to do some work before joining her into her slumber. Just before leaving the room, he glanced down on his wife and wondered if it’s time for them to stop pretending and become lovers for real.

Shen Yi went into the kitchen and pour himself a glass of water when he heard a ringing sound from Lu Xinyi’s purse that he’d left on the couch. He figured that it might be Lu Xiulan as he remembered that his wife mentioned that she forgot to give her a call the day before.

He pulled the phone from her purse and looked at the screen. It was an unsaved number so it wasn’t Lu Xiulan who was calling his wife. He put the phone to his ear and made sure that Lu Xinyi was still asleep on their bed.

“Xinyi. Oh, this is great. You finally picked up my call.” A male voice exclaimed from the other line.

Shen Yi figured out who it was and frowned. Lu Xinyi had already blocked Gong Yijun’s number but he still found a way to pester her.

“Who’s this?” he asked, feigning ignorance.

“I’m Lu Xinyi’s boyfriend.” Gong Yijun said as he realized that he wasn’t talking to Lu Xinyi.

“Ex-boyfriend. She’s my wife now.” Shen Yi said icily.

Gong Yijun became enraged.

“That’s a lie! I know Xinyi wouldn’t do something like that. Leave us alone. Bring back my Xinyi to me and stop meddling to our affairs!”

“You’re delusional. You think Xinyi will come back to you after all the hurtful things you did to her?”

“Keep away from Xinyi.” Gong Yijun sneered.

Shen Yi snorted in amusement at the man’s audacity. This idiot just kept claiming Lu Xinyi as his while keeping a side chick on his arms. Stupid. How foolish of him to claim Lu Xinyi as his?

“What makes you think that you have the right to demand something like that? Lu Xinyi is my woman. My wife. I don’t believe you have any rights to claim her as yours.”

“Keep away from her or else you will regret it!”

“Do your worst.”

Shen Yi was unmoved at his wife’s ex-boyfriend blatant threat. Gong Yijun didn’t have any idea who was he trying to threaten. It seemed that Gong Yijun was declaring an all-out war for Lu Xinyi’s affection but Shen Yi had no plans to accept the challenge.

In a way, it was interesting to see who’ll prevail but a small smile crossed on Shen Yi’s face when he remembered Lu Xinyi’s confession earlier. Either way, he didn’t have any plans to share his wife’s attention and affection with another man.

He hit the end button and returned Lu Xinyi’s phone back to her purse. With his mood slightly soured by that call, Shen Yi slid into bed with Lu Xinyi and pulled her close. He was going to crush that man if he dares to step between him and his wife.
