“You know you can just admit that you’ll never allow me to date someone else.” Lu Xinyi laughed.

Shen Yi ignored her words but the slight blush on his face that he quickly hide told Lu Xinyi that he was bothered by it.

Lu Xinyi was fully aware that something between them was changing. She couldn’t tell though if it was a good thing or not.

Shen Yi was the most atrocious, shameless, but dazzling and understanding… wait, what was she talking about? Ah, that kiss was still affecting her mind, right? And right now all she wanted to do was take him by the collar and continued what they couldn’t finish before.

‘No! Lu Xinyi enough of these thoughts!’ she chastised herself.

Was she really falling in love with him? Lu Xinyi took a quick glimpse of him before averting her eyes.

Probably but that didn’t sound like a bad idea. They were already married and being with him made the possibility greater. To be fair love wasn’t discussed on their deal so she wasn’t really breaking anything that they’d agreed.

“Xinyi.” The sound of her name alerted her. She straightened her back and looked up.

“Yes?” she muttered, locking eyes with him.

“Are you… Are you alright?”

But before she could answer, the executive team of the City H branch arrived and took their places.

Shen Yi was in a bad mood and Lu Xinyi was quite sure of that. She really had no idea what pissed him off. Playing on her phone while his meeting was ongoing made all of his staff felt more uncomfortable. They didn’t have a chance to reprimand her though because they weren’t sure what she was to Shen Yi.

It was Monday and there she was, sitting beside Shen Yi as if it was her right place and ignoring the people around them. Ah, it was so nice that she wasn’t working in the corporate world because Lu Xinyi swore that these people and their talks bored her to death. Although being here gave her the impression that her husband was a different man when he was talking about business.

She swore she couldn’t understand a word when everyone started talking about the percentage and the sales that had fallen down for that month. Math and numbers were such torture for her and she was glad that she didn’t have to deal with them anymore.

If only she knew…

Anyway, there was also bothering Lu Xinyi. The woman sitting across her was glaring at her. She could only guess that this woman was after her husband. Lu Xinyi narrowed her eyes. What’s wrong with this woman?

What was her name again? Ah, she remembered. The woman was introduced to her as Duan Yong, the chief property manager for this branch.

Duan Yong was sitting at Shen Yi’s left side. Thinking about it, Lu Xinyi tried to stifle her laughter when she realized why her husband was in a bad mood. Duan Yong was wearing a strong perfume that irritated Shen Yi’s nose.

After spending time with her new husband, Lu Xinyi discovered that he was a picky eater. He wouldn’t touch or taste anything without scrutinizing it. He also disliked strong floral scents and perfumes. Their little peaceful home was free from any strong scents that could irritate him and his dogs.

Well, she couldn’t really blame him.

Shen Yi was really tensed on his seat. An hour later, there was a quick break and everyone left the room except for him and Lu Xinyi. He stood up from his chair and quickly opened the window to let the air in.

“Well, someone’s is popular. Isn’t he?”

Lu Xinyi followed him and peered outside the window. She rubbed her forearms feeling a slight change in temperature.

“Disgusting. I will never understand why women wanted to be smothered with those kinds of perfumes.” He grunted.

“The woman was clueless. Just bear with it for a while.”

“Or I could glare at her so I could get rid of her. She has been trying to get my attention every time I visit this branch.” He slanted his eyes on her way when he heard her giggled.

Lu Xinyi shook her head.

“Aww… my poor hubby. Don’t you know for some women your cold glares could mean ‘Come here so I could devour you’?”

“Does that even worked on you?” His eyebrows rose.

“Hey. How dare you include me with those normies?” Lu Xinyi crossed her arms and huffed. “And here I thought I could help you get rid of her if you want me to.”

She could feel his gaze was on her. It must have been a trick of the sunlight but his eyes looked softer as he stared at her.

“Oh? My wife is going to help me? I wanna hear what’s on her mind. “

Lu Xinyi gave him a devilish grin. She will make sure Duan Yong will stop pursuing her husband again after this. This should be fun.
