This pervert! Why did she marry him again?!

Lu Xinyi scoffed as she tried to fight the blush that was creeping on her face. She wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of making her blush!

“Who’s staring? You idiot!” She tried her best to sound nonchalant, but with his knowing grin on his lips, Lu Xinyi knew she failed.

She turned her head away and crossed her arms on her chest. Oh, she really had to stop herself and her urge to look at him, or else, she might regret what could happen tonight.

“Ah, my dear wife. You don’t have to be shy.” Shen Yi teased and ran a finger on her cheek. Lu Xinyi stilled on his actions. What the hell did he want from her? “Oh my, you really are.”

Lu Xinyi slapped his hand and glared up to him. How come that every time she tried to step back from his flirting, she would always find herself on the losing side?

“Put something on! I wouldn’t share the bed with you if you won’t! Also, don’t you dare remove those pillows.” She said and pointed at the pillow wall on the bed that served as their barrier.

Lu Xinyi slipped out from the bed and ran towards the bathroom to brush her teeth. When she came back to their room, her husband had already put on a shirt. Good. Good, she wouldn’t be tempted to touch him if he’s clothed.

“I’m taking the right side.” She said demanded.

“Alright, just make sure you won’t end up in my arms.” Shen Yi said with a grin.

Sighing with relief, Lu Xinyi climbed back to the right side of the bed and covered herself with the blanket. She made sure that she was facing the opposite side so Shen Yi wouldn’t see her blushing face. Her eyes staring at the darkness.

Ahh… why was she too nervous tonight? Shen Yi said he wouldn’t force her for their wedding night, right?

Shen Yi shook his head as he noticed his wife being nervous. Just like he promised to her, he wouldn’t for anything that she didn’t like. He climbed into his side and silently stared at her back, waiting for her to say something, but she didn’t. It took some time before a comfortable silence fell between them.

“Good night, Xinyi.”

Lu Xinyi stiffened on her side before she relaxed. She clutched the sheet closer to her chest.

“Night,” she whispered back.

Meng Jiao’s face darkened when she heard what her lover said. What did he mean he would try to win Lu Xinyi’s favor? What else did he want from her? She already helped him gather those recipes he needed, and to be honest, now that Lu Xinyi knew of their affair, shouldn’t he stay with her?

“Yijun, didn’t she say she is already married? Maybe her husband is the one responsible for these problems,” she insisted. No! She could not allow him to go back with Lu Xinyi—not when she was already carrying his child!

Gong Yijun shook his head and threw the complaint letters on the garbage bin. Someone had tipped the Tax Bureau about their undeclared incomes and was asked to review their accounts. All of these problems started when Lu Xinyi left with that man.

“No. I know Xinyi. We both know she was reckless at times, but something like marrying someone so soon couldn’t be one of those times. Do you think that man is Yuan Jin’s new boyfriend?”

Meng Jiao’s expression turned cold. She couldn’t accept that he kept on choosing Lu Xinyi over her. What did Lu Xinyi had that she didn’t? Lu Xinyi just came from a wealthy family, and that was it.

“No. As far as I know, he isn’t seeing anyone recently.”

Yuan Jin was also Lu Xinyi’s best friend that she met after they graduated from high school. Meng Jiao wasn’t really in good terms with that guy. He probably knew how she seduced Gong Yijun three years ago.

“I’ll talk with Xinyi. Maybe if that man is really Yuan Jin’s boyfriend, she can ask him to stop bothering us.”

“But what about me and the baby?! You said you will leave her, but you keep breaking your promises. This wouldn’t happen if you already left her before.” Meng Jiao said with teary eyes.

Their affair started the same time when Gong Yijun’s family business started to fall. He was about to break up with Lu Xinyi, but when he discovered the recipe book of her father, lying on her desk, he changed his mind and decided to stay with her.
