“When are you going home? I miss you.”

On screen, Shen Yi let out a chuckle. After his meeting the other day, he was forced to do an inspection on one of their construction sites and hadn’t been home since then. This was the first time they weren’t together since they got married, and she was already missing him so badly.

“I’ll be home soon,” he promised. “How’re the kids?”

He sounded like a father missing his own kids more than their mother. Lu Xinyi pouted.

“You miss the kids and not me? And here I thought you were missing me, too.”

She propped an elbow up with her chin resting on her palm. Her action made her breast press together, her dress shirt’s collar plunging, giving Shen Yi a visual tease of her pale smooth neck and collarbone.

When did she get a red bra? He couldn’t remember her owning one. He got a lump in his throat and felt his mouth dried up at the scene presented to him.

“Not gonna show you something new if you stay there for too long.” Lu Xinyi huffed and crawled out of the bed, keeping the video chat on.

Curious with what his wife was planning, Shen Yi watched as Lu Xinyi turned her back on him and started unbuttoning her shirt, flashing her shoulder and her back at him.

“W-what are you doing?” Shit. Shen Yi felt himself stiffen.

“Changing. You can look away if you don’t want to see it.” She threw her discarded shirt on their bed and looked over her shoulder. Shen Yi could see her wearing matching red undergarments.

What the hell was she doing to him?! She never dared to strip herself in front of him before!

“Are you sure you want to do it in front of the laptop?”

Lu Xinyi paused in unbuttoning her pants and faced him, revealing her front without a shirt on.

Shen Yi could feel his body heat up as she let her pants fall to the floor. Oh, dear. He probably needed to take a cold shower tonight. Lu Xinyi then unclasped her bra from behind, her eyes meeting his.

He groaned when she threw it over her shoulder and crawled back on their bed, with her hair cunningly hiding her chest from his sight.

“You don’t know what you are missing, hubby.”

“I know. The thought crossed my mind,” came his dry response. Oh, hell. His naughty wife would be the death of him.

“Please come back soon. I don’t think I can stay away from you for too long.”

“I’ll try.”

“Promise me!” she pouted.

“Xinyi, as much as I want to, I need to finish taking care of these problems here.” His email notification popped up. The report he was waiting for had been sent to him.

Lu Xinyi sighed dejectedly. “Alright. I love you.”

“I know. As I, you.”

She gave a kiss on the camera of her laptop before turning it off, letting him finish his work.

In his hotel room, Shen Yi sighed for the nth time for that day.

He wanted to come home soon, but he didn’t want to make a promise to her that he couldn’t keep. No one said this would be easy. This first separation between them had been hard for the two of them; what more once she started attending Silver Leaf?

“I love you,” she told him, and he would never get tired of hearing of it.

His phone rang loud. The site supervisor was calling him. He rubbed his temples before taking the call. He needed to finish this work to come back home to his little family.
