Some hours later when the twins had been tucked on their bed, Lu Xinyi waited for her husband to take his shower before sneaking out of their room and silently padding her way downstairs. Shen Yi could not keep her away from her favorite chocolate cake! Not this time!

Did he forget that she only agreed to marry him because he said she could have anything she wants? And what did she want? Of course, food! It wasn’t her fault that she was gaining weight too fast.

No, no. Certainly not her fault and her sweet desserts. Shen Yi was just being a meanie to her!

Giggling in delight, she ran as soon as she stepped down the stairs. Lu Xinyi believed that she was being clever.

Her husband should know by now she wouldn’t surrender a battle without a fight. Of course, she had planned all of these. Knowing his nightly routine, Lu Xinyi knew that she still got a chance to eat her cake while he was busy.

Did he think she would concede that easily when she knew where he kept her chocolate cake?

And she wasn’t that fat for fuck’s sake! It wasn’t like if she put on what she ate for the day on a fitness app, they would send an ambulance on their house, right?

Opening their fridge with a fork in her hand, Lu Xinyi took the delectable cake out and sat on the cold floor.

“Hello, my darling. Did you miss me?” Her brown eyes sparkled with delight. “Xinxin misses you too. Now, shall we continue where we left off?”

She would make sure her evil husband wouldn’t interrupt them this time.

Shen Yi sighed as he threw the used towel on the laundry bin and stepped back to their bedroom, only to see that his wife was missing.

“Xinyi?” he called out, but no one answered him. His eyes narrowed; he got a bad feeling about this. Where the heck was that woman?

He sprinted down the hall and went downstairs once he realized his grave mistake. Shit. Lu Xinyi had tricked him. He wanted to slap his forehead in frustration. Or had that little minx planned this all along?

A low moan resounded from their kitchen. He knew it! Ah, this glutton wife of his! Shen Yi pondered how could he punish this woman for breaking up their house rules! Wasn’t she the one who proposed that no one shall have a midnight snack?

The sight that greeted him once he arrived at their kitchen was horrifying.

His wife was sprawled in the floor, moaning in pain while holding her tummy. Chocolate crumbs scattered on the floor, with the platter beside her. From what he could tell, Lu Xinyi had overeaten; hence, she was in pain.

The remaining cake was still good for three persons. Did she eat all of it? They had eaten their dinner, and Shen Yi was sure the time wasn’t enough for her to digest it. Shaking his head, he picked up his wife from the floor and brought her to the bathroom to help her clean up.

Shen Yi scoffed.

“Couldn’t you wait till morning to eat it? You sure know how to put yourself in trouble,” he said while wiping her face with a wet washcloth.

“But you wouldn’t let me eat it.” Lu Xinyi whined. She was in so much discomfort. Luckily, her husband helped her clean her face like a toddler who smothered up a pint of ice cream on her face.

“Xinyi, I thought you know now your limitations? When we got married, there’s only you and me. Now that we have to raise the twins, I don’t want them to pick up some bad habits from you,” he replied.

“Don’t you dare vomit on me!” Shen Yi exclaimed when he saw her face churning into a different shade.

“I won’t… I just can’t.” Lu Xinyi wanted to throw up, but her body was denying her to empty her stomach, furthering her agony for overeating.

Deciding that his glutton wife had learned her lessons, Shen Yi took pity on her and brought her back to their bedroom. He helped her changed her dirty nightgown into a nightshirt. Five minutes later, he handed her two tablets and a glass of water to help her settle her stomach.

Once she was done, they slipped under the covers with her head lying on his chest. His hand rubbing her aching tummy. Lu Xinyi sighed in relief, enjoying the softest touch of his fingers. Her eyelids dropped, pulling her into slumber.

“You know you aren’t off the hook, Xinyi. Tomorrow, you will start losing weight with Xue.” Shen Yi’s words made her eyes shot wide.

“W-what?!”
