Chapter 94 - To Me, You Are The Most Precious Thing

She did not remember coming to any such understanding. At that time, it had always been him who had forced her into a situation where she had to kiss him under the excuse of the probability that his father might have put them under his surveillance. 

But something told her that whatever reasons she threw at him, he would not be affected in the least.

No, this is bullying! 

At that particular desperate exclamation, a face emerged in Chen Yi's head. A sweet motherly face who offered to beat his son with a ladle in case he ever dared to bully her.

Chen Yi timid eyes gained a tinge of twinkling. "Oh dear, would you want me to call your mother?" In a self-assured manner, infused with light-hearted teasing, she said.

And she was surprised. The mention of Li Luxian mother name proved to be more effective than she had expected. She witnessed Li Luxian eyes darting from her lips back to her eyes, shocked. Poor lad, he must have been taken aback at how his mother could also be used as a threat.

"I am not kidding. Your mother gave me the liberty to call her anytime she felt like it." Seeing the words proved effective, Chen Yi tested her luck further. "Oh and I really love her ladle." The teasing in her eyes got richer by the moment. 

That was all needed to be said to whiff away Li Luxian playfulness. With a very glum face, he glared at her for some time to which Chen Yi responded with a wicked smile. Helpless, he finally shifted back into his chair.

Only then, Chen Yi realized how much of a psychological pressure he had created on her by leaning over her. The close proximity of such a handsome man was not what her heart could handle. Because once he shifted back, she could finally have a proper breath.

"Haha," Straightening back on her chair, finding Li Luxian face oozing out fresh restatement, she could not help herself and laughed to her fill. Since she had already won, what was stopping her from taking pleasure in his expressions? "I finally found a way to keep you under check, great President Li."

"Try me," Li Luxian was quick to rectify her assumptions, "You can snitch on me all you want but that will have to wait. And my dear wife, until then you will have to stay the night with me. You dare assume I will not do anything to you?"

In response, Chen Yi quietly put another spoonful into her mouth pretending she hadn't listened to whatever he said. 

Ah, as much as she enjoyed teasing him, she cherished her purity. And Li Luxian was definitely not the kind who bluffed. If he laid a claim to do something, he would make sure to make that happen. 

Thus she wisely avoided confronting him.

Li Luxian typical smile returned to his face. The couple enjoyed dinner. After that, Chen Yi attempted to fish out for some compliments and didn't settle until Li Luxian admitted that this was the best he had ever had. Only then, she was satisfied and happy. 

"Why won't you come?" Li Luxian voice traveled across the room into her ears.

Back in the master bedroom of the condo, sitting over the couch, Chen Yi found herself in a new dilemma. "I'm doing some assignments I had missed all the time not attending the classes. You, go to sleep." She smiled. This was a lie. She was finding it very difficult to go and jump into the same bed as him.

It had been fine for the last couple of times. But today, the things he had forced her to do had yet to fade from her memory. For all that matters, it hadn't been more than a dozen hours before everything happened. And the fact that he had been extra playful the whole day didn't help at all. 

How was she supposed to go in and take the side along him? What guarantee was there that she would not be jumped at her?

Li Luxian put his arm under his head and silently waited for his wife with a frown. He was not going to sleep.

After ten to twenty minutes, his raspy voice asked again. "Are you done?"

"Um," Chen Yi coughed and pretended to be raptly typing on her laptop, "It might take a lot longer. I told you. Just got to sleep. Don't wait for me. Okay?"

Li Luxian expressions did not look good. Chen Yi hurriedly proposed. "If the lights are inconveniencing you, I might go to the next room." Without waiting for any words from his side, she quickly started to arrange her stuff.

It was when she heard a frustrated sigh from Li Luxian side. In confusion, she looked up to find him getting up. Putting his hands in the pockets of his trouser, he leisurely made his way to her. Standing only a few inches away from her forcing her to step back.

Something in his eyes told her that he knew she was only pretending to be making assignments.

"Let me help you," Out of blue, he said those words. Grabbing onto her laptop, he took a place beside her while conveniently throwing his other arm along her shoulders.

Chen Yi's heart dropped. The last thing she wanted as her lie to be uncovered. "There is no need really," She sheepishly smiled and attempted to take back her laptop that had already been seized by him. "Your sleep is so important than my assignment. You are the Almighty Big Boss of the Li conglomerates! How could I be so presumptuous to waste your precious time on my measly assignment? Heaven would punish me if I do that!" 

Li Luxian looked at Chen Yi with a twinkle of amusement between his brows. 

'Uh, did she overdo it?'

While she was wrought with uncertainty, Li Luxian leaned in and whispered right beside her ear.. "What is this Li Groups? To me, my wife is the most precious thing and the foremost deserving person of my time."
